Anything other than Palatino is a literal crime against humanity punishable only by the death of the criminal's entire extended family.
Are there any books about the relationship between truth and literature? Does literature reveal deep truths about the world, about experience and consciousness, or is it a self-contained experience, beauty for beauties sake, nothing but a means of feeling certain sensations? What do you guys think? Can literature reveal truths, as Wittgenstein said, that are not expressible in philosophy, or is it nothing but higher-level entertainment?
literature is lies
can truths exist in our world of endless subjectivity?
>>9779946
care to expand on that?
This is probably a long shot but what encounters have any of you had with literareness in games? I'm not a massive gamer or anything but I got to remembering pic related and thought that it was quite shakespearean and also gothic. Probably my favourite experience with a video game ever.
>>9779861
faggot
don't do this
I love videogames, but there is no literary value in them. The current paradigm of narrative in videogames is a plague on the industry. The clue is in the name, they're supposed to be games, fun tests of skill, not interactive YA fiction.
Should I name my cat Azazel or Mephisto?
>naming your symbiotic parasite

>>9779858

you should be made aware of the fact that the evil jewish wizard in the smurfs has a cat named azrael
and that those names sound similar enough to draw an unflattering parallel between you and this guy

>Tolstoy
>Dostoevsky

>>9779808
>Pushkin
>Tolstoy
>Gogol
>Chekhov

Dostoyevsky was not a very good writer and there's no reason for Solzhenitzyn to be above Bulgakov
>>9779808
Where the fuck is Gogol OP you worthless piece of shit
>>9779808
Anyone that ranks Russian authors and leaves out Lermontov can immediately be discarded.

Man you're not kidding. The film adaptation is a favorite of mine but that book was so shit. Literally nothing: the book.

>>9779850

Should I study this or the Bible? Which is more rewarding because I intend to study one single book until I get something out of it.
>>9779651
I like FW but it's no contest. The Bible. The most historically influential and culturally relevant book of all time. Should be required reading for anyone who wants to know something about this world. Also you never know, you might find God while you're at it
>>9779659
If I wanted to read Fairy Tales I would read Harry Potter or Game of Thrones.
>>9779671
Call them fairy tales if you want, but they're fairy tales that shaped this earth as we knew it. Very important fairy tales.
