The reason commercial banking is not really a competitive industry is because requires a government franchise to operate.

Deregulation would increase competition but also increase failures, and as we know from every economic policy adopted since 1930, the United States is terrified of bank failures.

I agree and disagree. Reading also makes you smarter and quite frankly if you're that shy then reading can only help you. If you read the right books that is(good books).

I've found that reading has increased my capacity for empathy and made me more appreciative of humanity in general.

The message in a poem is secondary to the aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of the rhyme scheme. If you cannot preserve the rhyme scheme in the target language you should not translate the poem. Because if the prosody and the rhyme scheme are no longer intact, you do not have a poem in your target language.
