What is the best school of literary criticism?
>>7372487
>best school
>thinking hierarchies should exist in lit crit
>not fully embracing the post-modern modality of intersectional studies consisting in themselves of complex and inter-meta-textual multiplicities, divergents and breaks/flows which organise the mechanic assemblage into the falsely perceived totality we may call a 'text'

What are some good lit tattoos?
Tattoos are not /lit/.

Tattoos are for slaves, cattle and other types of living property.
Tattoos are haram.
How the fuck do I git gud?
>>7372279
drugs, depression; really any mental malaise or heavy perspective shift/widening experience
>>7372288
Do I have to just write when I'm drunk?
>>7372290
No. You have to write while you're drunk and sad.
So, how long did it take for you to read The Holy Bible?
About 6 months.
60% of the Old Testament was just a fucking slog to get through and I read it on and off a lot, forcing my way through most of it. At least I can say I've read it from cover to cover now.
I have only read Genesis, John, and Revelations
>>7372188
damn...
you read other books while reading the bible right?
How do you feel about the use of internet colloquialisms in literature and journalism?
I came across this example of it, by the 59 year old Houellebecq no less:
>It’s unlikely that the insignificant opportunist who passes for our head of state, or the congenital moron who plays the part of our prime minister, or even the “stars of the opposition” (LOL) will emerge from the test looking any brighter.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/11/21/opinion/how-frances-leaders-failed-its-people.html
Is this to become the norm now?
It is the abbreviation for the French opposition party you mong (L'organisation Libérale)
>>7372165
They wouldn't use that abbreviation so casually in the New York Times for an American audience, m8. Houellebecq is lmaoing.
>>7372159
It's the job of literature and journalism to reflect current culture. It can go nowhere without referencing popular slang, or internet memes.
What is the strongest argument for the existence of God?
Also, post Richard Dawkins getting destroyed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKe4fshETQ4
>>7372148
not /lit/
>>7372148
The universe is not old enough to achieve this level of order by random chance.
>>7372162
That's a terrible argument though.
Are there any books on comparative study of significance of numbers in mythology / religions/ occultism?
>>7372142
René Guenon studied comparative religion.
Maybe you'll find what you want there. I never read him, is on my to-read list.
>>7372236
i just want the numbers
>>7372142
I don't know this is but Google said this was similar
Rogerson's Book of Numbers: The Culture of Numbers from 1001 Nights to the Seven Wonders of the World
Does your literary aesthetic charm women?
I was reading The Brothers Karamazov when I met my current gf. Its absolutely divine, would not want a non-literary oriented gf at all
>I was reading The Brothers Karamazov when I met my current gf. Its absolutely divine, would not want a non-literary oriented gf at all

I fucking loved Rant and Invisible Monsters. His ability to recognize human desires and then to twist that until it becomes something unrecognizable is wonderful, his experimenting with style is fun, and the monotone drawl of his text is my favorite thing. But he's accessible to "normies", so /lit/ thinks he's stupid. I don't know, maybe it changed, but when I was on here, everyone scoffed at his name.
His biggest downside is that once you've read 5 or so of his books, you just can't deal with any more.
Can you guys recommend me interesting books that you would say have had a strong impact on your lives?
No fiction preferably, pic related did it for me.
inb4 New Atheist nonsense shitposting
I'm not trying to make a thread about religion or atheism, this book helped me because it mapped out some truths about consciousness and meditation to me.
have you heard of richard dawkins?
I recommend "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins.
Did you know he also invented the word "meme"?
7 books, 7 goddamn books for a nice big "fuuuuuck youuuuu" at the end.
Thanks Steve
>wanting a happy/satisfying ending

I couldn't give a fuck what happened, live/die , whatever. Just fucking something
>>7371791

The only reason why my girl is not as praised as other female writers is because she didn't write from a feminist perspective.
Prove me wrong.
>>7371601
Basically. No hardline, lifelong virgin religious zealot is going to be the headliner in a university class dedicated to making girls feel good about their decision to pay tuition to party and talk about feminism.
O'Connor was extremely talented, but doesn't fit the narrative.
>>7371601
you must not go to school in the south
>>7371601
>not as praised
she's regarded as one of the best short story writers
Reading this after some /pol/ threads on the TV series caught my interest.
So far it's fucking retarded. This is alternate history that a 6th grader would have thought of.
>Germany beat Russia instantly cuz good ole USA wasn't there
>hurrr space nazis
>SLAVERY REINSTATED (wut)
>Africa is kill
>Japanese are not so bad and pretty honoribur
I'm only on chapter 2 but I'm wondering if I should keep going. Does it actually get good, or does it belong in the trash.
Pretty sure this is a far better alternate history novel than MITHC
http://www.bentoandstarchky.com/dec/nazijewmany.htm
>>7371565
I have read that book, it's retarded.
Not worth reading honestly.
Also, I don't remember anything about space nazis.
>>7371565
Try to read it as propaganda from that universe.
