Is Lucia Joyce the most patrician Waifu in literature? Can't believe Beckett was tapping that.
I wonder if Jimmy J ever got her to fart in his mouth.

Look at that picture. You just know.

Two "people" even actually upvoted that comment. Fuck, reddit is the gayest site on the internet.
Where else on the internet can you discuss literature? I don't think I can handle 4chan for much longer, /lit/ is the only place that keeps me coming back.
>>7469807

Is there anyone like Pynchon and Delillo and Gaddis in other languages? I know of Bolano in Spanish but that's it.
cortazar a bit.
>>7469644
Sort of.
But is there no crazy system novel like Pynchon and Delillo from Germany or Russia or Asia?
Márquez?
What does /lit/ think of Alain De Button? Discovered him on YouTube through The School of Life where he narrates on different topics, Philosophy being the main one. Does he state the obvious or is he on to something?
>>7469527
>alain de button
He's shit tier. He warps philosophy into this sellable self-help shit.
His videos are good as an introduction to the philosopher, or maybe to see if you would find the philosopher interesting.

Is this any good? if not what are it's betters?
>>7468252
Jawid Mojaddedi's translation of al-Mathnawi is great. Look into it.
>>7468274
Oh and it seems one of the translators of that collection is Barks. He doesn't even know Farsi. He makes up translations based on hearsay and his own "artistic vision", which ruins the power and spirituality of Rumi.
This is very good.
Im keeping a dream journal. im hoping to get some cool stories out of it. Have you ever had a dream journal? What did you do with it? Did you write down any crazy weird dreams?
>>7468045
Making stories out of dreams is the epitome of le so randum Xd. Fuck off
90% of my dreams revolve around me missing my exams.
>tfw almost a college dropout
>>7468057
so randum? When i have a worthwhile dream, i write it down carefully, recalling every detail from the dream. I dont just get an idea and make it up as i go, i write the whole of the dream, with precise descriptions and explanations of minute details. Otherwise whats the point? I think it takes a significant writing ability to recall, and narrate your dream eloquently, in a way that makes sense to a reader.

>He was the brother of 'the Arab' killed by the infamous Meursault, the antihero of Camus's classic novel. Angry at the world and his own unending solitude, he resolves to bring his brother out of obscurity by giving him a name - Musa - and a voice, and by describing the events that led to his senseless murder on a dazzling Algerian beach. A worthy complement to its great predecessor, The Meursault Investigation is not only a profound meditation on Arab identity and the disastrous effects of colonialism in Algeria, but also a stunning work of literature in its own right, told in a unique and affecting voice.

Some quick facts before we start:
Writing form: Dialogue is a conversation between two or more people. Euthyphro is a dialogue between Socrates and Euthyphro. They discuss what holiness, piety, and justice is.
Characters: Euthyphro is a young priest. Socrates is the infamous philosopher.
Setting: Just before Socrates's trial. Euthyphro is charging his own father with murder and impiety. Socrates begins to question the morality behind this action.
I am afraid I won't understand? No worries! This is Plato's easiest dialogue to comprehend and you don't really need any knowledge beforehand, except for these basic facts.
This is one of Plato's early dialogues.
DISCLAIMER: I am by no means an expert on Plato but I still find them enjoyable to read and I hope you find it as enjoyable.
No, fuck Plato and fuck Socrates. The Philosopher > those faggots
Boring, why not do Protagoras? I think it's the better dialogue and covers some of the same ground but more intelligently and entertainingly

time to finally put something to rest:
>At night at home he would lie in bed and think of all the things that were wrong with his body. As he remembered in a later note:
>Feet too thin and narrow and toes oddly shaped, ankles too thin, calves not muscular enough; thighs squnch out repulsively when you sit down;
and, at last, what you were all wondering:
>pecker too small or if not too small in terms of shortness too small in terms of cirumference

Also I did suspect this. I think the character of Rick Vigorous in Broom of the System is partly based on himself, or the accuracy of the character is partly due to Wallace's ability to relate to Rick's anxieties.
