Why did this turn into generic slasher shit in the second half when the first half was so good? Is Clive simply incapable of writing good long form fiction?
What does /lit/ think about booktubers (youtubers who post videos about books they like, reading challenges, etc.)?
Are they all just plebs who are too immature to read anything other than YA fiction?
I have yet to see a video of a ~booktuber~ talking about a book that is actually worth reading.

Kurzgesagt made a new video on a philosophy of life called optimistic nihilism, what does /lit/ think of it?
Eye opening for people who have never thought about anything before.
I refuse to watch anything made by G*rmans
Is it just me or is kurzgesagt normie as fuck?
Is there a video anywhere of Picard and Gandalf doing Godot anywhere?
Spinoza's God, Stuart Kauffman's God, Nick Land's Gnon, James Lovelock's Gaia, Peter Ward's Medea. Any more concepts like this? Any literature?
I personally like to see nature as a force, which is neither good nor evil, highly creative but also something which you cannot hide from and with forces, a bit dark, that eventually get ahold of everyone.
(Cont)
I see things like self-organisation and evolution as the manifestation of nature, but also entropy and power laws, that sort of stuff

whats the best book they published?

Geez. Alot of WCW, Merton, non-Grove Henry Miller, Celine, Empson, the best translation of Bouvard and Pecuchet, etc.
I'll opt for Nathanael West's The Day of the Locust, where Homer Simpson's original can be found.
Rings of Saturn by WG Sebald is undoubtedly the finest contemporary work New Directions has published.

I JUST WANNA BE PART OF YOUR SUFFERING
Hey /lit/,
*Pic unrelated*
I need your help. I have no idea where to start. I want to get smarter by reading alot of books. Any books as long as they're non-fiction.
Do you guys have any tips for me regarding titles of books any decent human being should have read?
Kindest regards!

Well hello there, good sir! I'm rather new here myself, I came from a board I'd rather not name amongst these kind folks... *chuckles*
Do try these:
1) Ender's Game. No, it's not your typical sci-fi. Think of it more like a fine wine. Swish it around a bit in your mouth, spit it out in the glass, then order the whole bottle.
2) Ready Player One: Hilarious. The Frasier of Literature. Don't let people tell you it isn't literature. It's fun, as literature should be.
3) Hmm that's all I can think of now. I guess 3 is... THERE IS NO 3...! *holds up spoon*

thank you very much! C:
Do you guys ever get sceptical of an author while you are in the middle of one of their pieces? Do you keep reading to see the rest of their idea or do you start something else. I've been reading pic related, and I really don't see a lot of authenticity in his philosophy.

Thats the dolphin guy right?
If it's something really offensive and wrong, I'll drop it. If it's minor annoyances. I'll bear it and keep going.

Yeah. He's pretty essentric, but it seems like a lot of his ideas are just themes he has gotten from an altered state of mind, which makes me skeptical.
Just bought the "Jungle Novels" . Anybody read them and know what I'm in for? I quite liked ' the death ship'
Is the structure "what this is is x" as in "all what this is is nothing but bollocks"? I guess this is a dumb question, but as a non-native i'm wondering if I can use it in writing...
