Mine's probably: "A warm human plumpness settled down on his brain. His brain yielded. Perfume of embraces all him assailed. With hungered flesh obscurely, he mutely craved to adore."
Joyce's sentences spring with such rich sounds and perfect form, that line makes me want to write and be great more than anything else. Pure motivation.

My life is shit but I have loads of free time.
What are some books that can provide me hours of escapism?
I don't care if they are genre shit as long as they keep me entertained and maybe intrude into my dreams.
I read almost transparent blue and I really liked it, main character felt like a self insert and his friends were my friends. I want something that replicates that feel. Other murakami works didn't do the trick for me.

Honestly, I may get flamed for this but The Hardy Boys Series. I used to own the entire collection when I was a teenager and I read every single one multiple times over. They are the best mystery books ever written in my opinion and if you want to just get lost in a completely different world, you couldn't have a better series. I would finish 1/day.

What Weekends?
Friday ends on a sweet note.
Tension and stress is purged through the pervasive pores.
Breathe.
Departing from the sweat and smiles, dread lingering in the subconscious.
Reality is waiting at a place this called “home.”
Pack on the back, water on the side, headphones on.
The train crawls forward in anticipation.
Brief thoughts of suicide,
cut short by the train.
Maybe next time.
The train is relieved.
Strangers with their own story doze.
Humans with their tendencies, their own habits, doze.
Silence on the way “home.”
A hand grips the doorknob tightly,
like any other day.
Spices flood the senses – as usual.
Legs sore, yet they climb the stairs dutifully.
Maybe Tia or Grandma will call today.
With luck, maybe even Dad.
Slim chances, sure, but a guy can hope.
Pack on the floor, water on the table, headphones on.
Climb in to bed wearily.
Silence.

“She worked on the New Terra Ships,” Icarus said, walking down the ramp. Thick goggles hung around zir neck, sweat dripping from zir hair, fresh from the workshop. A wry, distant sort of smile had spread across zir face. “She spent her whole life working on those ships, designing their hulls, fixing their lugnuts, running their simulators. She dreamed of humans finally and forever breaking free of the Earth and living up in space. Dreamed of helping us escape our doomed little world. She believed in New Terra.” Icarus walked over and stared at the picture with Europa. “Her life work was those ships.”
“They worked,” Europa said. “The New Terra Ships all launched.”
“Yes. The New Terra evacuations went off without a hitch. And do you know what happened to my great grandmother?” Icarus asked. “Who spent her whole life building them? She couldn’t afford a ticket on one.” The look of bitterness that rose up on Icarus’s face took Europa back. “They made you buy a ticket for salvation, and she couldn’t afford one. She stood out on her front porch and watched the last New Terra Evacuation Ships leave her behind on our doomed little world because the people who built those ships weren’t worth it to actually be on them.”

I just ran into the most retarded review/(er) ever conceivable. Not only she read a mere 7% of Rushdie's actual book for the purpose of her evaluation but also read, completed and attributed a higher evaluation to 'Joseph Anton: A Memoir' which is a fucking book about the Satanic Verses which she din't even fucking read. The comments on her review also transpired high levels of ignorance where it became apparent that a lot of people bought the book out of principle but din't even bother reading it. I think that it's the western equivalent of all those sandniggersthat supported the fatwa issued by Ruhollah Khomeini. Are people fucking retarded ? If you want to be a SJW pick up a fucking book.
