>audiobooks are just as good
I will say that audio recordings of the author reading their own work are nice for entertainment, especially if it's a favorite work.
Still wouldn't substitute it for first time experience with the text tho

What does /lit/ think of Julis Evola?
Do you think that his commentary on the spirituality of race, particularly on the Semites, wasright?
One of the most bracing, erudite, and no bullshit authors I've ever read. Literally right about everything
>>7621364
I completely disagree with his politics and philosophy, but I think a lot of it is consistent and well written so I can see the appeal. There are a lot of complete retards who regurgitate his quotes everywhere tho so I generally don't find discussion about him to be positive in any kind of way
>>7621381
I don't actually seem his discussed very often at all - what quotes to people generally attribute?
any decent books on him?

What e-readers do you use? Should I just get a tablet? I like the idea of getting a device solely for reading, and the look and feel of e-readers are pretty nice. I'm particularly interested in the kindle paperwhite.
Do you pay for all of your ebooks? Can I load downloaded ebooks onto a kindle from my computer?
>>7617177
Nah not a tablet, ereaders dont tire you eyes as much as normal tablets because ereaders dont emit light
A tablet is not for reading for a reason. And just pirate everything.

I use a kindle touch, and have had the same one for 6 years now. It is a wonderful piece of hardware. I would buy a Kindle Voyage 2 if I was being profligate, or a regular paperwhite if my touch broke
>should I get a tablet
I use my Ipad Air for PDFs. It is a great piece of tech since I dont sit at my pc all day. That said, I do 90% of my reading on kindle.

Alright guys need some help because I have shit tier memory on everything I've read, looking for a book and I only remember the syphnosis lightly. Had to do with like 2 or 3 kids who did some stupid shit and it brought on the return of some evil king(shadow king or ghoul King) and that's pretty much it, I'm sure it was a trilogy, like I only read the first one. Anyone got any idea what I'm talking about
Time for a new book. Which one should I read first?
read them simultaneously so you don't have to shoot yourself when you're bored of moby-dick. not kidding
Moby Dick.
Burn the other one.

>read nothing but mangas for two years straight
>finally decide to get back into literature
>start with Gravity's Rainbow
>"Wow, /lit/ was right, this doesn't make any sense"
>realize in the final pages of the book that I read the whole thing right to left, like my mangas
>"oopsy daisy"
Even if you read it left to right it still doesn't make sense.
>>7625381
I'd think it would make more sense if you read it like that
> oopsy daisy
