I need a new book shelf. I don't want a particle board bookcase that's going to start sagging and falling apart under the weight of books. What are you guys using? Any DIY shelves?
>>7752479
particle board wont sag if its supported by metal filament every foot along width.
>>7752589
The cheap particle board bookcases I've seen don't have any supports. They're only attached to the frame at the ends of the boards.
My bookshelves are made of either concrete blocks and 1x8's, or milk crates that I've 'found'. Cheap, fast, simple, and durable.

hey lit
I've been going though a hard time recently. I used to write poetry when I was younger. I recently got back into it cause it really distracts me. I'm gunna dump a few things I have written. They are nothing special, I only took a few minutes to write most of them, some maybe 30 minutes. I just like rhyming stuff and giving myself indirect advice, here goes nothing.
Opportunist
Let me tell you my dear
Everything great in life is surrounded by fear
You always have the choice to hide
After all, you are in control of this ride
It’s always safer to stay inside and away
I promise if you decide to stray
There’s going to be some pain
But some moments provide novocaine
The key to this is that life rewards risk
It can always hurt but it’ll be brisk
It’s all about the end game
You can die right now, wouldn’t that be a shame?
So take that leap of faith
Ignore the whispers of the wraith
There’s only one chance to thrive
Take a breath and contrive
It’s okay that you have no immunities
But life only gives you so many opportunities
You’ll never know the amount
Just make sure you make this life count
Experience
Life works in mysterious ways
Sometimes it’s scary cause you can’t see through the haze
People tell you to play it safe to survive
But without a pinch how do you know you’re alive?
It could always be more than a pinch and it could set you ablaze
But please don’t let that fire scare you; so let me rephrase
Don’t let the flame prevent you to thrive
Life experiences are something that you cannot deprive
I know it’s scary, you feel like you can get lost in this maze
Embrace it, take in life’s chances and soak in the rays
Let life take you on its crazy drive
Otherwise you’ll never know how strong you are and what you can survive
Elemental Change
Right now you are fire
And I am gasoline
You are what I desire
But we cannot convene
I only want to help you
But gasoline makes the fire worse
No matter what I do, I’m making the fire brew
When I only meant to make it disperse
The fire will simmer down
Soon my gasoline won’t make you burn
It’ll keep your heart from shutdown
Once our love makes its return
Or maybe our elements will change
We will eventually be able to mold
Possibly something beautiful and strange
But I believe we are the recipe for pure gold
I was going to ask /tv/ this, but figured you guys would be the ones to ask instead. Is there a name for a type of character in a story like the fiddler from fiddler on the roof? Sort of like the theme embodied in a person? Usually not a central character, rarely contributes to the plot, but more of an interpretive role. closest thing I can think of is the Greek chorus, but that's not quite it. Another example is the accordion player from the movie Milagros Beanfield War.

Is that the one where the orphans attend boarding school? What was the title?

The Austere Academy.
Love his work. They're very different from any other kids' book. Also, I read his new series of prequels to aSoUE called all the wrong questions. Never read anything of his besides those two book series, so can't judge him as an author because of the distinct and unique style of them.

is ur subject a reference to the singleton design pattern? it seems like it since it looks like u passing two ints to a function
>>7752207
No, nor am I fan of singletons and design patterns.
The two ints were the parameters to my incorrect haiku.

Most women I know read tons. Its low tier trash, but at least they make an effort at NYT bestsellers and pulitzers and such.
I know very few men that read at all.
