>How’s this for a powerhouse combination: Russell Crowe is in talks to star in a James Franco-directed adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian with Tye Sheridan and Vincent D’Onofrio also boarding the cast.
So this man will be playing Judge Holden, right?
He'd actually make a good Judge. I didn't think anyone would really fit the role but he wouldn't be bad.

Pick one
What intro gnosticism should I read before BM?
Can someone tell me why this USELESS FUCKING UNTALENTED HACK CUNT FUCK NIGGER FAGGOT IS DIRECTING THE MOVIE ADAPTATION OF BLOOD MERIDIAN
>caring about movie adaptations
>caring about pleb mccarthy

The Coen Brothers did No Country justice.
Why didn't they tap them for this?
I am in the process of writing a sex filled erotic story and I just discovered that stories like that arent allowed on Wattpad. What are some other online places similar to Wattpad that allow pornographic books and stories to be posted?
>>8002729
Also, the story revolves around consensual, underage incest.
Literotica and Asstr are the main places I go to read wincest stores
I've noticed that, of all the world religions, Zen tends to get the most respect on this board, which makes me wonder. What books does /lit/ recommend on the subject? I've been told that Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind is the only book that you need to practice Zen, but that just...that seems like it can't be right.
>>8002726
Lookin' ta get spooked?
Dōgen Zenji and Keizan Jōkin are the authorities
why don't you read the fucking book you cretin
Suzuki has a very specific vision of Zen, he was very consciously trying to promote it to 20th century westerners.
Personally, i'm not interested in 'practice', but I am interested in Zen as literature.
I'd recommend "The Record of Linji" translated by Ruth Fuller Sasaki. It's a translation of some 9th century Chinese stuff. Go to the source m8, it's weirder and more provoking than a polished 20th century self help book.
There's a free pdf if you google it.
What are your thoughts on animal extinction? There seems to be this, apparently arbitrary, ethical weight laid on the extermination of an entire race of animals juxtaposed on the killing of individual ones. It's sort of a whimsical attitude, isn't it? That the world shall not be deprived of this template of creation but rather smaller instances of it.

One out of a species of a million animals compared to one out of one thousand. I'd rather save the one out of one thousand. Essentially diminishing marginal value for animals.

What killing about a human (~7 billion) or a panda (<3000)?
What are some unique books about dystopias? Surely there are other ways of doing it. Are there more happy dytopias, like Brave New World?
>>8002556
Brave New World is terrifying though. Unless you mean it as in people are happy in it then.
>>8002563
Yes. I'm interested in the idea of the happy dystopia where the people go along with it because they feel their meetings are being met. Or maybe they're actually being met. Can there be a functional, altruistic dystopia?
>>8002571
BNW definitely is functional and altruistic. The main character's conflict comes from not being able to accept it.
ITT: write the logline of the book you're writing, the book you want to write, or the idea for a book you've thought of before.

A group of people find something valuable, diamonds, and deliver it somewhere safe in africa. Some people don't like the authority and rule of the leader so they try to rebel. Concepts ripped off from LOTR and Paradise Lost
And then there's one about life in a sex cult, there's more to my idea but I need to write more before sharing it.
So /lit/ lads,do you have any good books on political science, political philosophy and economics?

What is some /lit/-approved right-wing literature?
Could you please link me to some books or a reading list? (Also, no mein kampf please, thanks.)
>>8001919
All 'literature' with overt political overtones, whether they be right-wing or left-wing, are complete shit
If you're looking for something that generally promotes but doesn't emit miasma of edgy mid-pubescent crisis then I guess Dostoevsky
>>8001932
>he doesn't even know that all art is propaganda
Anyway, OP, pic related is the usual fare, even though quite flawed (The Glass Bead Game, wtf)
I'm partial to Storm Of Steel, WW1 autobiography very positive in tone
Every day this same fucking thread. How hard is it to read the sticky
I for one think it's incredible that we're alive at the same time as the greatest author in American history. He's alive right now! And will be for years to come. Savor it. Pynchon's alive, and while he may be old, he's not dying anytime soon.
OMG. You cursed him, you shit. Turn on the news.
i often think this, too. what i'd give to hang out with him.

WTF TURN ON CNN!! omg
What are some good novels set in medieval times?

The Name of the Rose
It's been 3 years now. I still don't get why I like 4chan, why I come so frequently. 4chan is totally against my life ethic, is a bunch of immoral faggots talking, without knowing each other and without any security to meet the same person the next day, it's a pointless vicious cycle. Yet I come here almost every day, on /adv/, /mu/, /his/, /lit/, /soc/, /int/, ..
Explain to me this attractiveness I can find in /b/ or any other immoral shitty board. Explain it to me in the most philosophical way, maybe psychological if you have the balls
> Bonus : What board do you lurk
You're frustrated yet complacent.
>>8001484
Actually the question isn't about me, I was just introducing my question. I would have asked it in /adv/ but this is a /lit/ thread, I'm trying to discover the relation between being an "anon" and immorality, and ultimately what brings so many people here.
personally I like to discuss literature which this thread isn't
fuck off

just seeing you smile would help me get thtough

Don't write her a poem. Literally just talk. You'll be fine.
If it's clear she's not interested in you after that, move on.
So, how's that novel coming along, /lit?
>>8000967
WELL, MY NOVEL MIGHT NOT BE COMING, BUT I'M COMING ON YOUR MOM'S FACE, OP
>>8000967
5 or 6 pages. Wrote some today. I think I'm finally starting to get the right tone. I have so many thing I want it to do and it is missing alot of what usually makes a novel a novel. I'm terrified it is going to end up falling flat on it's face halfway through. Feeling pretty good about it right now though. Just need do everything possible to keep my mood stable and keep working on it regardless.
It's done, one of these literary agents needs to give me a thumbs up, or at least a reply, dammit. I've been trying to sell for four months.
