bazinga!
Woah!

I never understood the banana memes of this novel. Clearly made by people who read the first ~20 pages or so then surrendered. -Pynchon.
Spooky thread.
Read a spooky book or short story. Leave another as a suggestion.
Pic related. A man goes on a walk through the woods with the devil.

Goosebumps are pretty scary scary
For sale: skeleton, never worn.
But who was phone?
is that the one where the uptight puritanical bro from new england finds out his wife was getting gangbanged by the whole town out in the woods and that he's a fucking spooked cuck missing out on hot bukake action?

Seriously I was fucking shocked. The calibre of the work was dreadful. It's a 10 grand prize!
> inb4 why don't you just win if it's so easy

i know the feels, same goes for poetry for the most part.
since there is no objective way to judge art, as soon as you pass some quality barrier, winning depends on the personal tastes of the jury
it's true for any art contest from art contest on a game forum to the nobel prize in literature

no shit
I dont meam to start /his/ shitposting but i started reading Candide and im at the part where Candide murders his waifu's brother. While I do understand the irony of Candide's story it's also quite tragic how he lived a virtuous life up until he realized his waifu wasn't dead and started evading justice just because of a women.
good to know, thanks
>>8064337
What's the point of the story he keeps fucking himself over.
>>8064333
Candide is crap. It's only still around because English professors know that if they tried reading real philosophy they'd get their shit pushed in.
What does /lit/ think of Lotr?
creative and imaginative children's literature

no discernible talent, clearly a juvenile author.
avoid.
it's good
>finish a book
>all those treasured moments are nothing but paper and ink
Your other memories only exist in your mind
that's like saying that having a good time with friends is invalidated because they're just flesh and blood
the paper and ink is just the medium through which the author reaches out to you
What is the best form of art? In my opinion it's either music or mathematics.
Music or architecture

Are there no fictional copies, or were such writings just not taken seriously?
it is

Only the /r9k/ zeitgeist. That one shitty spammer here is more applicable to the broader 21st Century zeitgeist.
Should I read the book?
Howl's movie castele? naa aman. You probably shouldn't.
>>8063822
I really enjoyed it. She had two sisters in the book who turned out to be interesting characters, her stepmother was a cunt, and the missing prince makes more sense. It was an ok book to pick up if you are looking for something light and fun to read.
>>8063822
No, because after reading it, you'll realise the movie makes no sense, as nice as it is.
