Can I read this book at night? what the hell is going on??
it's recommended that you read all of his prior fiction and non-fiction and the DT Max biography and probably several interviews before diving into IJ. I find it easier to read during the day.

whats his name again?

Wallace and Gromit
>read a book

Why does 4chan hate me?

you shouldn't be ready a shit edition of a large classic like that
don't you have access to a library?
get the landmark edition so you have the cool maps
>>8369666
I've got the maps and the book was free, and I've got no idea what you're trying to convey here
>you shouldn't be ready a shit edition of a large classic like that
I really just wanted to post this because he ate his son and was fine with it.
Does /lit/ take kindly to screenwriting?
Dennis Potter is unbeaten
/lit/ doesn't take kindly to anything.
>>8369602
Say what you will about his actual films, but Rick Alverson's scripts are absolutely GOAT. The script to Entertainment might be more gut wrenching than the actual film.
Are there any "so bad it's good" books?
List of the Lost by Morrissey
Pulp magazines.
anything by jason myers, who is worse than palanhuik and green
why should someone read philosophy? isn't just some dude's idea about how to live your life. I've never considered reading it before.

Thinking is fun.
heh.
funny thread.
>>8369251
I'm seriously asking why
Why is /lit/ the best board ever?
Fsktskykgkgkzg
Id' like to hear what kind of reasoning went into putting those specific movies under each board.
>>8369181
Youth was a shit film btw
this board is becoming as bad as /mu/ last year, plus /r9k/ frogposters. fucking stop it, don't ruin books too
I agree with your sentiment, but I don't see a way to change all of this. To be honest, it's not like this board has been a beacon of culture, discussion and interesting shit during these last few years.
>>8369125
this thread sure helped raise the bar
I agree with you but as long as we are outnumbered we will slowly be flooded out. It's a pity, but I guess it's the way of things. I suppose I will add the worst stuff to my filter and continue to participate in quality threads even though they are rare.
I reckon this thread is pretty neutral since sometimes you do need to talk about meta things. The only people who disagree with bring attention to bad things are the very same people supporting those bad things.
Can we please talk about Plato's Republic? What did you pull from it? Do you agree? How long have you had autism?
>>8369094
You believe that Kallipolis is meant to be a literal model of government?
>>8369094
I got bad news for you buddy.
>>8369082
I guess democracy is shit. I can't help but see similarities in Plato's tripartite conception of the soul and Freud's psychoanalytic models of the unconscious mind, I don't know if the similarity was intentional. He made a good point about sense summoning attributes of ordinary objects (appendages) in relation to abstract entities. The life of a philosopher king is thankless. Republic was probably the first attempt I've seen to lay out a framework for unifying what would eventually become physics and metaphysics. An all around swell defense of the rationalist project and a thought provoking schema for the relationship between body, mind and nature. I award it a 10 out of 10. thanks obongo
