What's a good book for a 12 year old girl? Preferably something that doesn't involve any sex themes. pick related, it was the last book I got her off of an ex's recommendation
>>8380668
Lolita. It might help her understand your relationship better.
Finnegans Wake.
here we go...
Why do you bother writing when people who are smarter, more talented, more skilled, more industrious, younger, and better connected than you are already five steps ahead? Any work you produce will at best be a distraction from their genius.
If you truly cared about literature, you would let go of your ego and do your best to help your superiors
>>8380529
Because fuck them, that's why.
Just because someone is younger or more organized doesn't mean you have nothing to offer.
Despite new cars coming out every year there is still a market for the older ones. Some are that much more valuable because of the flaws
You sound pretty spooked OP.
Now that the dust has settled, what's the verdict?
Retarded.
people that believe in God are fucking nut jobs. might as well believe in Santa Claus lmao.

Says increasingly nervous athiest for the 1000th time
There's arguments for both sides. The true fools are the ones who are sure everyone else is wrong
Is there a guide on having a gf?
Recommend books on love and relationships.
No, it's just simple trial and error, and enjoying the simple things in life

-men want to be validated, to feel relevant, meritorious, worthy, responsible, like he says
-when men feel disconnected from reality, non-worthy, they think of suicide
-men understand that other men are just as pathetic as them
-therefore men cannot be validated by other men, but by something that is not male
-men want therefore to be validated by
--women
--higher men who do not feel the need to be validated
-higher men are rare
-women are not rare
-how to be validated, to be noticed by cumdumpsters?
-women are hedonistic, which means they are egotistic and what feeds their ego is their pleasures.
-therefore, to be noticed by women, men love to try to please women
-how to please tramps?
-women love sex and money
-women love to love sex and money
-- therefore men give them money and sex FOR FREE
-men understand then that other men give money and sex to the same woman.
-men understand that women LOVE to have plenty of lovers
-men understand that women DESPISE poor &/or ugly men SINCE those men cannot feed her hedonism
-most men remain unvalidated, unnoticed and whine >no gf
-women compete with other to get the best men
-most women always get what they want from men, even a solid decade after their menopause. EACH girl KNOWS that, in her life, there will ALWAYS be one man more dedicated to her than to any other girl.
-women want sex, as said, but equally to be entertained outside the bedroom (which cost money)
-the goal of the girl is to get the best man who will focus on her for a very long time
-no such man exists, so she will seek men who satisfy her through sex and other men who satisfy her through comfort
-men being worms, they build various strategies to provide for women
-men being worms, they attempt to avoid passing for worms in saying ''women are sluts and useless''
the fact is that women are smarter than worms, and worms despises this. they will say that any other woman which is not their /true one/wife-gf/oneitis is a whore out of bitterness.
Models: Attracting Woman through Honesty by Mark Manson.
The title seems dumb, but it's great advice.

I have some questions about New Sincerity:
>How can I better identify something as NS?
I'm led to believe that it's an attempt to separate itself to postmodernism, and that it takes a stance against irony. It attempts to restore purity.
>Can you list some New Sincerity works outside of literature?
I saw Little Man Tate recently and it feels like it would be an example of NS. Maybe Fried Green Tomatoes? James and the Giant Peach (the movie)?
>Is it still around?
Or has the chaos of the Zeroes and New Tens made us realize that we need genuine postmodernism now more than ever?
"New Sincerity" isn't a thing. Like most of the things Dave talked about, it was just a lot of hot air.
what was wrong with the old sincerity? wasn't sincere enough?
>>8373451
it had too much of the big bad irony in it, and that makes hip twentysomethings feel bad about themselves, so now we have to be sincere in the new way
How to be the ultimate patrician?
In books, movies and music.
"Art in general"
Pretend you already are.
>>8370795
Spend all of your time posting on 4chan, and asking strangers on the internet what's cool.
>>8370795
You don't become a patrician. You either are one or not. Trying to become one is a wasted effort and only gets you to the complete opposite of that goal.
Is there any real counter to him?
Is there any real counter to 'I know you are! But what am I?'
So does he really think eating eggs for dinner is a spook, or is someone misquoting him?

Not really, no. When you're right you're right.

Here's a question for you, /lit/...is reading sexy?
I've been reading my entire life (old fag here, so it's been quite a while) and never once have I had a woman tell me they find me sexy because I read. Reading has never gotten me a phone number, never inspired a qt3.14 to hit on me, has never gotten me laid.
I read in public and have never had a woman come over to talk to me based on me holding a book. And yes, I'm a decent looking guy, in a long-term with a hottie, and I've had my share of intercourse over the decades.
So what is it about reading that's sexy?
Is it the act of reading that's sexy? Holding a book, concentrating on the text, brow furrowed, that's sexy?
Is it the idea of reading, that someone is intelligent and well-read, that comes across as sexy?
Or is it just the image...an attractive man or woman holding a hard back book, glasses propped on their nose, sitting in a sunny windowsill or on a blanket in a meadow, that is considered sexy?
Thoughts?
Are you sure you aren't reading unattractive books? If you're reading shit like dostoevsky or bukowski, girls won't like you.
>>8382002
Well, are you reading YA?
They'd be more likely to talk to you if you were reading a book they'd already read.
Maybe you look deeply focused when you read, too.
>>8382009
Nah, bitches love bukowsky
anyone gonna get a copy of this, out of curiosity?
also has anyone actually read this?
German-fags get lost your safety is at stake.

The most unsubstantiated argument of the year folks.
What's your criteria for "comparable to hitler" lmao
>>8380939
If I disagree with somebody they're comparable to Hitler
>I saw something really scary!
>I can't say what it is!
>Trust me though, it's really really scary!
Every time.
What a fucking hack.
>>8379027
OP, you need imagination. You fill in the blanks. It sounds cheap but what is better: you get spoonfed and told what is scary or you imagine it yourself?
>>8379039
