NYC /lit/ meet-up!
Join Discord for planning purposes. We have ~4 - 6 guys so far. Mostly students at various schools in the city right now.
Almost certainly going to meet somewhere in Manhattan; timing could be as soon as this weekend. We welcome your input.

I really need a book in my life which is about fulfillment, one which will teach me how to lead a fulfilling life. Please no religious garbage, believing in things which don't exist is for retards.
>>8586239
there is no fulfillment. read schopenhauer and stop believing in made up shit.
OP you have a shit attitude to begin with, so you would need to work on that before you will find fulfillment.
>religious people are retarded
This is what I mean.
Maybe instead try to find books which will help you become open minded.

>Maybe instead try to find books which will help you become open minded.
the good thing about science is it's true whether or not you believe in it. have you ever heard anyone give you evidence that there's an afterlife? No, it's made up and anyone who doesn't realize that is a massive fucking retard, and it only proves that some people really do have lower functioning brains.
Just finished the fourth and final revision of the fifth chapter of my book. Just ten more chapters to go and then it's done. Unfortunately I did the celebratory drunkenness in advance so nothing for me tonight. It's happening. And I believe in this one, too. It's not like other stuff I wrote. I'm confident in it.
It's very exciting. I'm really looking forward to the rejection letter!
Good job anon! Any hints you can give us? What's the genre?
>>8587705
Contemp YA time travel scat slash

It's shit, start over.

>>8586092

>>8586097

Deleuze is a joke of a man.
>>8586130
But hell of a philosopher.
would like him less if you found out he was living in some 8000 sq foot mansion and driving a ferrari
>>8586068
Like Magnum PI ?
>>8586068
writers make jack shit. Even Stephen King drags a long a measly existence. Maybe JK Rowling has money but that's about it. Every other writer in the world is literally starving to death and turning tricks on the streets. You can walk to the corner of a Brooklyn Bodega and get a blowjob from Don DeLillo and have Pynchon scrounging for the leftovers.
>>8586113
Stephen King has $400 million.
Looking for good books to read, things that expand the mind not garbage like Games of Thrones.
>>8586004
That's not really good Literature.
>>8585981
Ok.
You know any literature that relates to what I'm feeling? Do you relate to what I'm feeling?
>>8585983
>magnetizing the problem of the human condition and making a false equivalence to people who suffer tremendously being somehow at the opposite end of the spectrum of people who have non life threatening problems
>all problems are trivial and the only thing you should really care about in your life is just shutting the fuck up and doing your job as a slave
yeah I know you're really pushing for that herd conformity
Well at least you've stopped writing on a pink background but you should still kys.
>>8585995
>magnetizing
magnifying*
Is it worth buying?
>>8585958
you don't have to buy it because it's open source obviously but, yeah, read it
>>8585965
>open source
i'm not sure that's what it's called
>>8585991
Public domain.
>poem
>doesn't rhyme
Why are poets so lazy?
>poem
>doesn't alliterate
>doesn't have skothending
Why are scalds so lazy?

The exit-level chart includes The Recognitions - how is this in any way depressing? What part of it will make me want to kill myself?
Also, post exit-level lit ITT. I need some more suggestions since the only chart is small.
>>8585684
There's a lot of debate about what the creator of that chart meant by 'exit level'. The leading theory is that it is simply a collection of the creator's favourite books and he has a penchant for depressing lit, but not exclusively.
>>8585703
By exit they meant suicide.
after Wolfe, who's the second most aesthetic writer?
wolfe is seconde.
this guy is first.
