Why are there so many nihilists on this board?
Why haven't you read a real philosopher like Hegel or Kant or someone who isn't an edgy retard.
Nihilism doesn't make sense if you just think for about three minutes and realize idealism is true.
I dont care
If more people in the world were nihilists we'd have a far more peaceful world.
On the other hand, if we had too many nihilists there would be no world for us to have peace in.
The world is at a natural balance with itself and you are a retard for not seeing it. The constant struggle between good and evil. The constant struggle between 'why' and 'because'. The constant struggle of nihilism versus ideology.
You're asking an empty question. Stop wasting your time.
It doesn't matter... Like everything.
I'm still a pleb so I can't comprehend this, it seems like an enigma.
How can someone religious like dostoyevsky support existentialism? Dont existentialism and theism contradict each other?

What is the vogue in literary fiction nowadays?
Like postmodernism was the vogue in the sixties and seventies, moving onto minimalism in the eighties and nineties (Broad simplification but that's necessary for talking this generally)
What kinds of short stories get published in magazines? What sort of novels?
And note this is a thread about /lit/erary fiction, so no bitching about genre fiction or young adult.

A partial return to Modernism through metamodernism. New Sincerity, the vapid intellectual sinkhole that it is, lived and died with Infinite Jest, though it retains a small following among what is essentially the literary beats of our time i.e Taipei and his tweet-addled ilk
I am looking for books that have the most underground, cut off from society, underworld stories. It would actually be cool if it wasn't a crime story either, just one that's really strange, eerie, and other worldly.
Hate to meme you, friendo, but read Dosto's Notes.

Any books that covers this feel?

happy bday but
>caring about birthdays
just a part of the perpetual belief that everyone is inherently special when they're not
why the fuck should someone be congratulated and praised and be center of attention just because they've lived for x amount of years
it creates loneliness like yours
every time my birthday came I purposely hid it from anyone I know, for the fact that I don't want some obligatory relations just because of a stupid tradition

Does lit care for book covers?
I try to get hardcover versions of books since they're more durable but, sometimes I'm just too fucking poor to buy a book new. If I do get a paperback used, I try not to get one with a real person on the cover.

70s cover art was so great
I buy cheap, usually used books, if they come with a nice cover then it's great, but I don't really care about that.
Sometimes. For LOTR definitely. French editions (not speaking about LOTR only) have good covers even for cheap editions most of the time. Much better than shitty photoshop US/UK novels.
But I like more and more old editions that just have the title with a cool font over a colored background.
