Was Wonka Satan?
>>8659921
Wonka was Dahl's self-insert after years of dealing with shitty kids.
Also what's up with that cover? No child would want to read it.
I think it can be read as a Communist allegory, with Wanka running a commune in which all his employees live. The kids that are eliminated all represent the things communists hate: excess, addiction, the bourgeoisie, and the media. The child that wins is the poor son of a man who lost his job to a machine, a main concern of the Luddites, a communist sect. Food for thought.
I want to get back to french by reading stuff in french. I read En Attendant Godot the other day and it was fine. I also read some news from Le Figaro every now and then. What's some more easy french literature?

"You are a friend of Adolf Hitier's?"
"Yes."
"Since when?"
"Since 1904."
"Whatdo you mean by that? Atthattime he was nobody."
"Nevertheless, I was his friend."
"How could you be his friend when he was still a nobody?"
An American officer of the Central Intelligence Corps asked: "So you are a friend of Adolf Hitler's.
What did you get out of it?"
"Nothing."
"But you admit thatyou were his friend. Did he give you money?"
"No."
"Or food?"
"Neither."
"A car, a house?"
"Not that either."
"Did he introduce you to beautiful women?"
"Nor that."
"Did he receive you again, later on?"
"Yes."
"Did you see him often?"
"Occasionally."
"How did you manage to see him?"
"I just went to him."
"So you were with him. Really? Quite close?'
"Yes, quite close."
"Alone?"
"Alone."
"Withoutany guard?"
"Without any guard."
"So you could have killed him?"
"Yes, I could have."
"And why didn't you kill him?"
"Because he was my friend."

You're on 4chan, kiddos.
Most of us is very sympathetic to Hitler's cause and see him for the great man that he was. Take the redpill
>>8659794
What about Jesus? I think I agree with you though.
I mean, Hitler ordered even to have all private pictures of himself banned from the public to see in 1944 I think, as to not weaken his image too much in the eyes of the Germans.
>if you believe you have good intentions its alright if there are negative and predictable consequences
How is this man taken seriously?
>>8659780
Where does he say this? I will personally punch him in the face if this isn't some obscure troll.
>>8659780
except he never said that. Ask yourself why manslaughter is different to murder and you'll understand to some degree what Harris thinks about intention.
>>8659781
What he actually says is that a person's intentions are a plausible guide to how we can expect them to act in the future. The guy who stabs you on purpose might try to do it again, whereas the person who stabs you accidentally might drive you to the hospital. This is an important consideration in deciding how to treat people whose actions have had negative consequences.
>in the absurd world the value of a notion or of a life is measured by its sterility
What did camus mean by this?
seems interesting i guess. bump
Another mildly related question from op here.
Its 2:40 am here and i want to have some sort of conclusion before going to bed because im on pg 69 and i know i wont finish the rest of the essay tonight. Should i just skip to the last part where camus tells the story of sisphus and then read the essay on some later day?

Prerequisites/starting points for:
>Derrida?
>Lacan?
>Foucalt?
>Cultural Realism?

Fuck--Cultural Materialism*
Da Greeks?
So I'm putting together an independent study course on Derrida and I'm looking for help compiling the reading list. Any help, or recommended texts (especially of those published later in his career) would be most helpful. As a graduate course, I'm looking for between 5-10 texts of Derrida or those who influenced or later developed a Derridian discourse. My current list is:
Of Grammatology - Derrida
Writing and Difference - Derrida
The Animal that Therefore I Am - Derrida
Specters of Marx - Derrida
Dissemination - Derrida
Being in Time - Heidegger (potentially?)
Any help expanding, excluding, or honing this towards something to present to the professor would be greatly appreciated.
Upon years of fapping, my tastes have found a turn for the worse. Everything from Foot fetishes to watersports and even re-breathing. It seems like recently I've come to want more from my hentai. A good story. Something I can invest my time into and enjoy, for the effort that's gone into the story. Not just another bland "Wah onii-chan not in my oshiri I poop from there".
Anyone else feel this way? I've already tried /h/ but they're so vanilla over there these days, and /d/ is too... Well I don't think I need to say more...
Please, I can see why this thread might be looked over as a joke but I'm serious. Any other fetishes don't even matter, so long as it has a truly interesting story I can get into.
Help me /lit/
what's re-breathing?
I think /h/ was your best bet.

Is humor the most superior philosophical value? If you have a sense of humor and laugh about everything in you're life, are you innately superior to everyone?
You're innately a joke if your life is that funny.
