Can anyone recommend a book about argumentation in general?
I assume you're a dunce?
>>8684317
I wouldn't start with that picture, for one.
>>8684322
yes, I am. Thank you
im not sure what to think of this
im at around 160 pages and ive already ordered the next two books but eh
the witcher series got me into reading more fantasy (yes i have read the basic fantasy books so technically it wasnt the witcher) and i heard this book was also good for people who like fantasy but its so easy to read
characters are awful, conversations are boring
the only thing i like is the world itself and how the unique skills are actually explained so surely he has given it a lot of thought
should i finish anyway because it gets better or something or should i just drop it
i really have mixed feelings about this. feels like it was written for 5 year olds
if you guys have some good recs for fantasy books i'd love to hear them too
Lord of the Rings was pretty good.

Have any of you read Game Change or Double Down? I know they can't possibly live up to Fear and Loathing, but are they worth reading?

Read Hemingway and then Faulkner. Just to cement the fact that all American novels are the same.

unless its supposed to be super technical and contributive to discourse, you can easily knock that out over two nights, one spent on composition and the other on substantive revision/clarification.
you got this. youve already discovered the beautiful skeleton that is outline.

jesus christ, that is a guaranteed night-before project for me, unless my self-esteem really hinges on doing well in the class. i can't remember the last time I did a substantial amount of work on a project more than 3 days before its due date. i should kill myself

#1 - GET A CALENDAR
>go to this page
https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/monthly.html?year=2016&month=11&country=1
>print the calendar
"wah! no printer access"
>turn on some music
>copy the calendar on to some loose paper in your house.
#2 - DAILY WALKS.
>Walk around two blocks in your neighborhood every day. I know the prospect of other people seeing you outdoors is scary as fuck. Just get over it, and repeat.
>You don't need to run. You don't need to go for excessive time or distance. Just two blocks around your neighborhood in a big circle.
#3 - GET A REAL GOAL.
If your a writer dedicate your self to Nanowrimo.
If you have no particular aspiration at all. Learn spanish on duolingo.com right now, and keep at it for the next 30 days.
See topic.
I respect that. Always wanted to play d&d but literally don't know where to start

Read the players handbook, get excited about creating a character, find a local game. Or do what I do and just read the books for inspiration. Dunno if many ppl play 3.5 anymore.
>>8683225
There is a starter set available for purchase that includes a campaign, dice, pre-made character sheets, and basic rulebook on Amazon. With that you can just gather up a few friends and meet regularly.
Don't have friends? Just look up whatever game store/college campus is near you and find out if they have weekly meetups.
Or, if you don't want to waste money on a starter set, just read the player's handbook to get an idea of how it plays.

"If you want to be writer you must read 3 hours per day, and write 3 hours per day"
Is he right?
No.
If you want to be a writer convince a publisher to publish your work.
Nah you could just be a celebrity and write TRASH like Dmitri Martin.
>3 hours of reading
>3 hours of writing
>not working sixteen hours a day by alternating between reading, writing, shitposting on /lit/ and constantly thinking about your work and what you've read while leading daily life.

Entropy presupposes a systematic universe.
Why is this obscurist blue-balled cunt so vague and what the fuck does he SPECIFICALLY mean with his claim that everyone is in despair except those with a defining commitment.

>How do they write different sorts of characters then and not make them out to be some kind of twisted/evil/insane/unreasonable caricature meant only to pose as a soundboard for their own beliefs?
Hi, I'm not sure if you're familiar with the fantasy genre, but I recommend you read a few of the books before continuing.
Nobody in fantasy writes interesting characters. The good guys are cyphers for the author, and the bad guys are caricatures that represent everything the author doesn't like. Some writers mix things up by giving the bad guys different sexual perversions to hate, but the overall effect is the same: you root for the good guys (assuming your political beliefs are in line with the authors) and they crush and kill the bad guys.
