I've been starting to read novels recently and the "humor" always comes off as cringey or just boring.

I assume that it is just because, to put it simply, I have that autistic sense of humor one can see throughout this site commonly. The type that would get me looked at oddly at best and reported for harassment/ostracized at worst.

Any books out there with a decent story/characters and would appeal to me comedically?

I prefer fantasy or historical fiction/alternate history books, but am open to science fiction.

I tried asking on /wsr/ without any luck because I didn't want to bother this board with a thread about a personal request.

I'm about halfway through the Unabomber manifesto and it has basically changed my life. I now understand that my NEETdom and mental illness is a result of normies erasing my caveman heritage, and armed revolution against the state is the only solution.

Oh shut up. Ted was a fucking pussy that would literally go into the fetal position and whimper when something didn't go his way. He was a big faggot angry at the world for his general impotence and took it out on others with the first excuse he could think of.

His bombs were pretty shit, too, half of them didn't work. He was also super butthurt when the Oklahoma City bombing happened because all the news outlets said that Tim McVeigh was way better than him.

>ornery

Burgers, please try to defend this word. How do you even say it? Is two syllables or three?
14 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>8750147

It's three syllables:
ore neh ree
>>
Burger here from the upper midwest. Usually it's two, "orn'ry" but I've heard it pronounced with three as well, "or-ner-y"
>>
>>8750177
>Usually it's two, "orn'ry"

I wouldn't say this is typical usage. That would have to be some kind of vernacular in your region.

"Ornery" is most definitely three syllables. Consult any dictionary.

The word is just a corruption of "ordinary." I don't frankly know how it came into usage.

>He never planned on going to the garden, but the experiences he heard others had peaked his interest too much for him to stay away.

Which is right?

Is it

>too much for him to stay away.

or

>too much to stay away.

It's piqued. Otherwise, they're both clumsy sentences.

Everyone knows that true art comes from demons.

>ITT: post demons and discuss what kind of literature can come from them

I feel trapped, alone, disconnected from everyone around me. I'm in a rut, spinning my wheels in the muck and getting nowhere. I'm an impostor. I'm not up to any of the challenges set before me. The only way I can get out of this prison is by failing.

Break your overall task down into small, manageable goals, and work on one of them
The demon of impostor syndrome leads to something vulnerable and, paradoxically, genuine

Materialism is wrong for a couple of reasons.
Foremost, you are considering reality as if it were abject from experience. This is both an ontological error and an empirical error. It is an ontological error because it puts epistemology prior to metaphysics, saying that matter alone exists and that form is superfluous. It is an empirical error because empirically speaking all matter is uniform, and all notions of proximity, qualia, and differentials are not materially present but rather exist only within the mind as some function of entropy to give partition to matter; without it there would be no qualitative difference between 1 cubit and 2 cubit, and by extension no qualitative difference between being and non-being, meaning that for all intents and purposes nothing would exist.
But things do exist.
Therefor, anything which is known is real, and since mental formulations and conceptual knowledge and such are known, then they are also real.
But mental formulations are not material.
>But muh brain electrons n shiet
The fact that consciousness and other mental constructs are the product of the natural operation of unconscious matter does not by necessity mean that those things are themselves unconscious matter, for there is no direct material instantiation of love or of other things in the intellect, which is why in mathematics there is no formula circumscribing love and such things seeing as mathematics is abstraction from matter, further proof that mental constructs are not material despite having existence.
The way in which a thing exists in the mind is different from the way in which it exists materially, and this is causing perpetual incommensurability between conscious things and unconscious matter. Because in conscious things perception is different from being, so that it appears to us as if we are outside of the universe looking in, or perhaps we are a kind of interiority always peering out. In any case, it is plain that we know things that don't exist, which become real in participation of the consciousness of the knower.
This is called the notion of knowledge via connaturality or inclination.
In the same way, we, and all existent things by us, obtain existence by means of participation in the underlying principle of existence which is God.
God is called pure love because his knowing us is a self-imparting act by metaphysical necessity, and in knowing us he brings us into being, and since being is convertible with good all good is from God and all that is created is good ultimately speaking.

Is it just me or did this guy have a lot more going on in his life than I would be led to believe by stiff academic types. In addition to his published works, he maintained a 10,000+ page private journal. What the hell was going on that gave him so much to write about his personal life? Towards his death he wrote that he expected "not only his authorship but his whole life would become the subject of academic study". What did he mean by that?

Is it bad storytelling if all the protagonists and deuteragonists die at the end of the story?

Does your answer change if they were sacrificing themselves for a cause or ideal?

>/v/ is literally upset that a protagonist dies at the end

It's a good thing intellectual novels are like kryptonite to videogame-playing degenerates or else the suicide rates of male virgins aged 18-40 would skyrocket.

But man, Ignatius is an og prince of 4chan. The perversions, the gluttony, the yelling, the delusional grip of reality. Toole wrote one of the original neckbeards, the man had a crystal ball.
