How do you transport your books without damaging them?

Recently bought a pretty old and worn out book, shit's pretty cool but I'm afraid to take anywhere on my backpack since it feels like it would disintegrate if I'm not careful enough. Normally I'd just toss my books in there and not give a fuck since a little damage on the corners won't really do much but I seriously can't do that with this one.

Any tips?

Who cares nigger, we're not in antiquity anymore, books are entirely disposable
Buy an e-book like a normal person already

I put them in a ziplock bag. It seems to protect the corners.

Can we talk about the semi-colon? It has had a falling out with the public. It used to be popular - before, say, the mid-20th century - but presently there seems to be a stigma attached to the mark, which connotes snobbery or pretentiousness. Why do you think that is, and how do you personally feel about semi-colons?

I think the reason has to do with the nature of the mark itself, as well as individual laziness and idiocy, combined with poor public education and anti-intellectual sentiment in the U.S. in general. Compared to other marks of punctuation, the semi-colon is intimidating - trickier, less common, and implicitly more superfluous than the basics like periods and commas. That relative complexity plus failing education systems are why a lot of people never learn how to properly use it in K-12 school, and then, for whatever reason, they can't be bothered to look it up on their own as adults. People don't understand it, so their natural reaction is to get mad at it, and that is why it has become trendy to look down on and avoid its use.

But I like the semi-colon; he is my friend. My only one...

I can't remember who said it but there's a quote I read once that described "a nice little feeling of expectancy" when seeing a semi-colon in a sentence. It's a good quote because it's true. I definitely know that feel - it's an abstract one that I'd never have thought of articulating on my own.

How does one use semicolons, then? Is it just a comma, but with the pause being longer?
>>
>>8807783
I mostly use it for lists.
>>
>>8807783
it connects two independant clauses that are related to each other. The question of when to use a semi colon isn't about when not to use a comma; the question of when to use a semi colon is about when not to use a period.

Rate this idea for a novel:

Extremelly beta guy in reinaissance europe, has not a single chance of gettting a gf, yet one night, he meets something like Cassanova, a mysterious figure dressed like El Zorro.

He's the town number one enemy, he's despised by all the males in the town, since he flirts, send love letter to their wifes and daughters, and he always fuck them in the night.

Of course, this Zorro guy is the only Chad in the entire town, which is filled with betta guys, which have dull marriages and are dull betas with forced marriages.

He's the male all the women in the town desires, so he's the number one enemy of all males.

Of course this alpha male, in his prime sexual peak years, start teaching this beta kid, the secrets of PUA and female sexuality.

By chance, does someone possess a digital copy of Charles Martin's translation for Metamorphoses, or a trustable site to download it? I did not find any trustable places to download it. I would buy it, but
momentarily spending money would fuck me in the arse. Preference for epub and mobi, but pdf (and any format really) is welcomed.

I didn't find an official /r/ thread so I will post this here.

What are some good books on European mythology/culture that are entertaining and aren't written through an anti-European lens? There are a lot I could grab on Amazon but I don't want books written by people who think Paganism is about smoking dope and being skanks, or think that European religions should be looked down on because muh Christianity.
