If I wanted to learn more about the idea of determinism, where do I start?
What if I I'm only interested in reading one book on the subject?
Also, what is the difference between determinism and predeterminism?
I remember reading a book in Middle School or early high school as part of our curriculum and it involved a boy learning to survive. I think I remember him interacting with tribes people and things like that.
It's not hatchet. My memory is so faded, but I remember enjoying it.

What are some books on improving memory?
I've noticed that I often forget minor or secondary details of the novels I'm reading, especially in longer works with complex plots. I'm currently approaching the end of The Brothers Karamazov, which is marvellous, but my enjoyment of it has been slightly tainted by my own confusion when a character or event from earlier in the book is referenced and I'm left scratching my head wondering who or what the fuck it is I've forgotten.
Is there any help for this or will I have to come to terms with the fact that my memory will be forever plebeian?

Is there any good literature dealing with the "struggle" between self-actualisation and just devoting your life to having fun and making the best of it, considering all that self-actualisation doesn't really matter once you're in your grave? It's a topic I've been thinking about a lot lately, and I would really appreciate a finger pointed in the right direction.
