What do you think of Julius Evola, do you think he is worth reading?
>>8848140
His works and René Guénon are must reads. Ride the Tiger is particularly useful.
>>8848189
Also read Ananda Coomaraswamy and Frithjof Schuon.
I wonder how his manifesto reads?
>>8848077
autisically undoubtedly
Probably like shit, because he's a fucking idiot cuck edgelord.
>repeat 9th grade
>drop out
>tells people about his plans to kill black people
>takes stupid edgelord pictures
>draws swastikas in his notebook
>kills a bunch of black people
>isnt captured
>waits to flee until next day
>doesn't cut his stupid bowl hair
>doesn't remove confederate flag front license plate which was shown on video
>drives north through relatively well populated towns
>gets snagged
>gets beaten up by black guy who snuck into his protected area in jail
>doesn't press charges, black guy gets released next day
>admits to wanting to start a race war
>shooting does the opposite, strengthening ties between black and white communities in SC and elsewhere
Probably actually autistic.
>>8848137
>>shooting does the opposite, strengthening ties between black and white communities in SC and elsewhere
Did this really happen? mainstream media AND the internet are both telling me that racial tensions are high
Is it absolutely necessary to read Husserl to understand Heidegger?
>>8847953
Yaaaaaaaaaassssssss
>>8847953
Husserl is Heidegger for adults
>>8847953
Him and Brentano were pretty much the ground work for Heidegger.

Anything by John Green.
What are some essential books on the Pre-socratics? I already have been recommended "The Presocratic Philosophers: A Critical History with a Selection of Texts" but I feel like there is something lacking of reading one source for all of these guys. I understand that most of their work is lost, but I feel like I should get a well rounded view of these guys before moving on.
Penguin's "Early Greek Philosophy"
i feel like these guys are almost totally negligible.
heraclitus has that one quote

bad post
What do you think of this book? Some call it a classic, others call it various other things. I haven't been through it completely just yet, but so far most of the stories have been very intriguing and quite captivating although a lot more vulgar and violent than I expected with the book being so often mentioned in pop culture.
The stories you hear from this during youth are mostly always abridged to be less violent I hear
I'm not sure about the value one would get from it sitting down and reading it straight through, I found it a pleasure to read on-the-go or just a few stories at once
>>8847883
It's the same with the Brothers Grimm. The actual stories themselves are horrifically violent and gory, but we sanitize and abridge them and tell them to kids.
>>8847836
Which edition/translation should I read? Which is the most complete, if there is even such a thing?
Any books to cure lazy nihilism? I started with the Greeks and that worked for a month.
>lazy nihilism

I doubt you finished The Greeks in under a month.
>>8847796
I didn't I got halfway through Plato.
Is Nick Land the biggest sperg in the history of human thought?
>can't stand Nick Land for his jokes and calls him a mental case
>praises a Slovene with more tics than lice, telling the same dirty 'jokes' over and over again
who's the better twitter personality, big dick nick or obama's brother?

>If I had my way, I would build a lethal chamber as big as the Crystal Palace, with a military band playing softly, and a Cinematograph working brightly; then I'd go out in the back streets and main streets and bring them in, all the sick, the halt, and the maimed; I would lead them gently, and they would smile me a weary thanks; and the band would softly bubble out the "Hallelujah Chorus".
what did he mean by this

I assume Lawrence was some kind of hyper-sexual fascistic kingdom of the art-sublime guy. But I don't know. I only read Lady Chatterley.
>>8847729
Nah he was basically just a primordial shitposter
DH Lawrence was pretty much just a sexed up fascist.
I want to give my mother a book for Christmas, but I'm unsure as to which one. She likes Spanish authors like Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Any help would be appreciated.
I wanted to add it can be an author or specific book with a similar feel.
