What type of game are you going for? And I mean this more than just "is it an RPG vs a strategy game", is it a single player or a multi-player? The tone you want to push across should be reflected in your technique.

You don't write a philosophical essay on how words acquire meaning the way you write a political polemic. Without knowing what kind of game you want to make, nobody can really give you any kind of advice except in the most bland, meaningless terms.

I always thought it funny that Pound made so many parallels to music in talking about poetry, that poets should have the same feel for prosody as musicians for rhythm and melody, yet he always discouraged poets from being "showy" like painters. Maybe he had something specific in mind when he talked of "showy" prose, but I think Pound was much more of a formalist and auralist than he was an imagist. It doesn't exactly map though, because as modernists go his prosody was not very musical. Eliot was very musical, and maybe Pound had a hardon for Eliot's musicality.

Its certainly one of them if it isnt. It began the paradigm shift to seeing alcoholics/addicts as being mentally unwell instead of intrinsically flawed and had massive ripple effects across therapeutic community because of it. Try 99% Invisible, Partially Examined Life, This American Life etc. Get a FOSS podcast client like AntennaPod and use the gpodder repository to search for podcasts. They use tags, so just type in "philosophy" or "literature" or w/e. I can't really think of any other thing to do in a packed train, really. If reading is out of the question, then so is writing.

What about language aquisition, have you thought about that?

BBC Radio 3 has the genuinely patrician podcasts when you get tired of hearing Lord Bragg interrupt people.
