I'm writing a short story, and I don't know where to begin with writing the male character (no it's not a romance). Should I just give up and write the protagonist as female?
haha pretty ironic
>>8961665
I'm honestly trying to get inside the male psyche. That's why I browse 4chan, to understand the male mind a bit more so I can write about it. But I'm stuck in writers block.
Depends.
Is the character white? Then he's always attempting to oppress or rape everything he sees
Is he non-white? Then he's oppressed by everything he sees and rapes as revenge.
Is there a definitive collection of all the Norse myths?
>>8961564
literally the sagas
>>8961565
But isn't the sagas just the history of medieval Iceland?
>>8961564
This is a good book on the Norse myths and religion. It has about 34 Norse myths in it.
should I get one of these if I'm not a pirate, or stick with used physical copies?
Main advantages:
- Many books in your pocket
- No need to head to a store for new books or to wait ordering
- People can't see what you are reading if you are around normies
- If you are renting a flat then it makes it easier to move
- More compact than any decent read
- Many free classics
Disadvantages:
- Cannot donate books you have read
- Lack of feel
- Need to charge on occasion
- Can't share unless you temporarily give up your entire library
- Not all libraries can rent out ebooks
- Can't buy secondhand ebooks
Personally I have a Kindle Voyage and use it for most books, but the ones that matter the most to me I buy in hardback to keep for ever.

You should get one.
There are loads of books you can get for free legally.
https://www.gutenberg.org/
https://open.umn.edu/opentextbooks/
http://www.openculture.com/
Now this way you only need to purchase physical copies of books you want to make permanent additions to your library, or books which you can't find for free legally.

Is it a women? Then no chance.
Also, the book offers nothing except 'hurr raysisum is bad xD'. Protip: it's not. It's genetically and evolutionarily wired into us and there's a racial hierarchy with whites on top. Also, fuck women writers, their inferior
So, what's up with Ayn Rand? Why was hating her such a big meme for the longest time?
>>8961537
because it sucks to be reminded that the happy community friendliness we all put on is merely a front for the highest truth of the infinitely psychotic unrelenting bloodthirsty to the death competition realitycan someone make that op pic into a pepe

Fucking terrible.
I follow 'studyblr' blogs to jerk it over their girly handwriting and nice stationary.
Heres my downy handwriting, complete with smudges from my clumsy monkey hands.
What meter do I read a Modern English Translation of The Canterbury Tales in?
Iambic pentameter, I suppose. But an annotated edition in ME, like the Riverside Chaucer, along with a basic understanding of ME phonetics and lexic, should suffice.
> Modern English Translation
What's the fucking point? You may as well just read a Jersey Shore plot.
One reads Chaucer *for* the language.
>>8961339
>translation
>of the Canterbury Tales
You can be better than that, OP.

Hey /lit I just watched Still Alice and I'm fucking terrified I have oldtimers. What are some books that aren't horror that will terrify/scare the fuck out of me.
Anything by Cormac McCarthy should do the trick. No Country for Old Men. Or if you really want to be terrified try The Road or Blood Meridian.
>>8961240
I've already read the road and bloodmeridian. the road was good. my favorite parts were flashback with the wife. bloodmeme on the other hand was boring as fuck and le reddit level of edginess.

If irony is a one-to-one relationship between the thing being ironised and the one doing the irony, can there be more than one layer of irony?
Because even if multiple ironies can be said to be ironised, there is only one link between the chain of ironies and the ironiser
>>8961183
Hey guys, I think OP is a really smart person. *ba-dum-tssh* Ha-ha! It was funny, because I'm being ironic! That's multiple layers of irony, ironically making fun of the OP while also ironically making fun of corny jokes/people who think they're really cool and sarcastic and use irony annoyingly. I'm also making fun of people who are autistic and overly rational through this autistic and overly rational post. Etc.
>>8961183
How many layers of irony are you on right now OP?
>>8961190
That is only one layer
You are ironising two things but not another layer of irony
