This chart seems pleb as fuck for genre fiction writers, any book recommendations about writing preferably written by people who actually wrote literature?
Nice! Was thinking of making this thread. A couple weeks ago an anon suggested
>Aristotle's Poetics
Finally got my copy of it yesterday, in fact, but haven't read it yet.
Based on what I've personally read I'd recommend
>The Hero with a Thousand Faces
>Self-Editing for Fiction Writers
I've also heard good things about
>Save the Cat!
For screenwriters.
Just read King, he got everything you'll ever need.

Yeah. King's "On Writing" is not bad at all.
I hate gigantic pre-1950 books which are tedious and, if they are non-fiction, clearly look like supreme monuments to the narcissism and self promotion of the authors.

are libraries obsolete?
I went to the library yesterday.
>tfw owe £400 in overdue library charges
i'm banned from the library now but libraries are only obsolete if you're a pseudo-intellectual
>>8999426
i frequent a library too, but i rarely use books from there. for me it is just a place i can sit and silently work on something. the physical books there are a decoration to me.
Dearest /lit/,
I just went through a bad breakup. Now I come home from work every day to an empty two bedroom apartment and ask myself what for. I need something to read. Perhaps something consolatory, perhaps something which merely offers a little escape. I need something to fill the empty time in this empty time.
Please, anything.

I admittedly don't do a lot of annotations and highlights but it does work.
I like e-books mostly for the convenience, being able to carry around a dozen different anthologies on poetry is just cool.
Some books on slavery please. Not merely history of it..I want to understand the white man's opinion of slaves and vice-versa, I want to understand the dynamics of the relationships and the amount of racism, the feel of society that had slaves and the way they thought of them, perhaps with some great examples, stories and such. Kind of stuff you only see in the movies and WW2 history books because of their relatively young age.
>>8999195
I am redpilled and in favor of the enslavement of nonwhites. It's about mental capacity. Their simply inferior to the white man. Read the Bible, there are references to this as well.
Also, the Bell Curve confirms that there's a hiarachy. Natural selection and genes confirm that racism is a good thing to ensure the propagation of your kinsmen.
What you really should ask yourself is: what do you imagine blacks, say, would do if the white man let them rule? Unfortunately, they're history suggests that they'd rape us all and torture us to death and genocide us. We can't let that happen. We need to redpill people on multiculturalism
There's a problem of consciousness as well. Can nonwhites really be said to be as self-aware, as conscious as the white man? This is heavily debated on /pol/ among other places and the general consensus is that their simply subhuman. After all, as Aristotle pointed out, man is a rational being. Can nonwhites and even white women truly be said to be rational? Not according to what I see posted about them on 4chan, the screenshots from twitter, tinder and the violent videos from liveleak etc.
These are uncomfortable truths that we need to discuss

"above average" heh, that must mean I'm some sort of genius.
200-250 words a min (Average)
>You read between 250 - 300 words per minute. Above-average reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.
Good enough i Guess.
I have questions:
When should I use the "S" in seem(s), look(s), give(s) and so on…
Example:
"You look good today"
correct
"You looks good today."
wrong
I also have no idea when to use "does."
Guide me /lit/.
Singular objects that aren't first or second person. He. She. It. This. That.
In interrogative sentences:
When does the wind blow?
Why does the wind blow?
Who does the wind blow?
For whom does the wind blow?
Where does the wind blow?
What does the wind blow?
How does the wind blow?
Does the wind blow?
It's for third person singular...

Write literal bullshit essays for fun
Ie why tomatos are gay
just b.e. urself
as long as it's a good introduction and it doesn't take you that long to write the other sections of the paper, that doesn't seem unreasonable at all. i mean you have to generate a thesis to write an introduction, that's the majority of the heavy lifting right there. a good thesis/introduction and a paper can almost write itself.
if that isn't the case though, I'm sorry; you aren't cut out to write. learn to plagiarize well (and intelligently - aim for a B+) for when it is necessary and avoid writing-intensive courses/careers.
