>tfw just ordered the new translation of the 120 days of sodom, waiting for godot, and the complete stories of franz kafka.
I'm here for you OP. Talk to me.

The feel guy was supposed to be inhaling, like he's savoring up the invigoration of the moment.
Nice bro
I'm want to start reading more but nothing really interest me at the moment could /lit/ recommend me something to read
well what do you like
Something action oriented that has relatable and witty characters, I haven't grown a specific sense of taste yet so I'm open to new things
Sup guise?
I'm writing a sequel to Earnest Cline's Ready Player One. What are some movies and games that should be expounded upon to help round out the story?
I'm already using Star Trek TNG and minecraft. What shows movies and games would you feature and why?
>>9064391
Instead of the 80s do the 90s. Put in Pokemon and kawaii anime grills.
>>9064403
That's what I'm doing! It'll be 90's-centric and Pokémon will feature in a main quest
>>9064429
Evangelion
where does one start with Sloterdjik?
I would be interested in that too.
Is Sloterdijk really a conservative? I want to read conservatives.
>>9064390
from the tip
>>9064417
he's a post-modern poser
What do you think about mainstream news? Do you consume it on a regular basis? Which publications have you found to be more honest and worthwhile to read?
What are your views on current mainstream media in general?
yeah what's up with that i don't even smoke crack
I don't read mainstream news. I prefer to think for myself.
I don't read any news because I think it's almost always a waste of time.
>all dialogue written in IPA to reflect characters' accents
What the fuck is IPA?
>>9064240
India Pale Ale:^)
>>9064240
internal postmodern analogies
You fuckers didn't tell me I needed to know French for this
That cover is so gross. But pretty genius.
Google " Lolita French phrases" and you should find a wiki books page to translate some, but not all.
>>9064178
>that slightly uneven bottom part
Hmmm
>>9064237
it's a sucker
how it feels, three most influential philosophers from Germany was actually Poles?
Schopenhauer
>Gdańsk
Stirner
>he practically grew up in Poland ; Chełm
Nietzsche
>Niecki to be precise
>" "I am proud of my Polish descent."
>"I thank Heaven, that in all of my instincts I am a Pole and nobody else".
>""I am enough Polish, to give away all the music of the world just in exchange for Chopin"
Nietzsche is the only influential philosopher listed
Europe used to be more mixed
Here I am again, responding autistically to bait
>>9064169
i'm not talking about trivially interpreted nationality, but metaphysical. ALl three reflected polish individualism.
>poland individualism stronk since "liberum veto"
>>9064157
>stirner
>influential
>schopenhauer
>implyijg that he is not remembered only because Nietzsche spent a decade debunking everything he said
Is this what people educated on 4chan sound like? I'm fairly new here on /lit/
What is the phenomenon called when people first do something that's good for them when it's already too late?
Example:
Wait until your teeth ache before going to a dentist
Only start exercising when you already have bad knees and back pain when exercising before would have prevented it
>>9064148
Laziness. Really, that's how I would define it.
>>9064148
Thanks for this great thread.
It's called stupidy.
>>9064158
Ironically, that's exactly how I'd define this post.
>And then they started clapping. All the people, all these adults, just started clapping, and one shouted "Bravo!" in a European accent. Augustus, smiling, bowed. Laughing, I curtsied ever so slightly, which was met with another round of applause.
How does he get away with this shit?
haha le easy target meem
bet you read The Unbearable Lightness of Being and think it's sooooo deep
>>9064095
>The unbearable lightness of memeing
Go home John you're embarrassing yourself
>>9064091
> a European accent
Is Urth of the New Sun worth a read? I'm making my way throught BotNS now, currently on Sword of the Lictor, and was wondering if I should read this when I'm done with the series.
>>9064078
It's good, but not necessary.
>>9064078
I'm wondering as well
My fear is that it might be one of those books where the author answers questions about the original series that might better be left unanswered, but I don't even know what it's about so my fears are hopefully unfounded
>>9064078
>>9064208
The questions of BotNS that require answers are apparently buried within it if you're attentive enough but I was too stupid and Im really happy I read Urth and got them answered, though it introduces plenty of new questions.
It's fine continuation but I will say it doesn't quite have the magic of the original. It expands the scope of the story and goes to some weird places and I honestly couldn't say whether it hurts or betters the story.
It's Gene Wolfe, that's for sure.
I get distracted easily when writing on the computer, and my handwriting is shit on paper. Is it time to fall for the typewriter meme? I feel like it'd just be super convenient to have everything I type be printed immediately.
>>9064051
you can get one for 2 bucks off ebay. Just do it.
>>9064052
>2 bucks
Really?
>>9064055
I bought a little travel erika typewriter for 1.50.
I guess it depends on where you are.
wtf does this mean
>>9064035
I'm assuming something other than the obvious, because that would be retarded in the extreme and Picasso was not a retard.
>>9064035
it means that art has a cathartic function.
>>9064035
El arte sacude del alma el polve de la vida cotidiana. Makes more sense now.
Anything similar to this about literature?
>>9063990
Is this any good?
>>9063995
Yes
https://mega.nz/fm/xJUWlYhI Here it is
How can i tell good from bad prose? What makes it good?
I will also be waiting in your thread for answers.
Flow. Readability.
you read enough good books until you undestand what is usually acclaimed as good, then you compare things
but there is no real answer (albeit you will find some really good ones that may or may not appeal to you); ultimately you just have to bee yourself, just stick your ass in someone and die
