I grew up as a lucky child, i had a great childhood, filled with lots of those books for progressing readers when you're young, loads of fairy tales etc, i used to love my reading and my focus used to be really good. I have BPD, autism and extreme anxiety attacks and being misdiagnosed with ADHD at 15, round about the time my mental health peaked I struggled to focus properly, on anything. You know how it is, and I was sucked into the void when I had my first phone for my 16th birthday. I am 20 years of age, and I recetnly finished 2 books since i was 14 ( i know, bad right?) but the euphoria I get sucked into books and storys feel amazing, but I have to read a chapter a couple of times each time to understand the whole book unless its like, those cringy young adult books ( i do enjoy them though, sometimes). I recently bought a couple of books which look like they won't fry my brain, however i really really want to get into modern classics that are easy to read. Sorry if i sound like the autist. But what do you recommend?

>Did I get meme'd (once again)?

>>9066098
Had the same exact reaction.
Sorry OP, I was going to write a 3 paragraphs answer to guide you, but apparently you don't deserve it.

This, only through Christ our lord & savior is there true understanding
>reading lolita on metro station
>theres a little girl sitting with her parents
>i look at her, then at her parents and unconsciously smile
>her mother looks at the book cover and says something to her husband
>the guy comes at me and say "what the fuck are you reading there, my man" and grab my book
>he reads some passages i marked and throw my book on the ground
>he pull me from the seat and punch me in the face, while destroying my book with his feet
t-thanks for the recommendation, /lit/
Lolita isn't simply read, it is experienced.

is it worth a read, /lit/?

Reads like any of his speeches. Art of the Deal is the true /trumpcore/ lit.
>>9065980
It's a fun read. Nothing profound, but he offers simple solutions to big problems in an alpha fashion.
>>9066142
>in an alpha fashion
I've laughed at you (not with you) IRL
Did I use the word premise correctly?
>Societal attraction on the premise of appearance is a direct measure of your own biological fitness.
>>9065973
it's a confusing sentence.
you can do better to express what you want
Yes. Are you writing for Edge Magazine?
no
also "societal attraction" sounds awkward and wrong, even if I know what youre trying to say, sort of.
Someone needs to write a book like this for 2017.Holden could be an /r9k/ tier beta and think that iphones are phony.
he really did.
>>9065948
I hated that whiney shit Holden so much. Anyone who relates to that little bitch is not someone I want to be around.
So then I said we need to build a wall, to keep out the Mexicans. And I meant it, I really believed it. We did. Not so long after I started reading all these news articles saying I was a racist and all. That killed me. It really did. There's nothing racist about wanting to protect your country. Nothing. I mean it, really.
Why are authors so secretive about marketing? I have tried to read up on marketing your book and all it says is vague shit like 'spread the word!'
Spread=Pay
The=For
Word=Advertising

about how much per day, and what results do I expect?
>finish chapter
>read summary of chapter on sparknotes to make sure I didn't miss anything
Pic captures the nature of that process quite well.
>>9065850
>read every day
>comprehension is very low
>read chapter numerous times at different rates to ensure full comprehension of what ive just read
>uncomfortable when i cant remember what just occured in the last chapter event by event
>repeat
who else /paranoid/
Damn this nigga smart as fuck

Is that George Lucas?
Jim Henson ?
Stanley Kubrick?
Does it actually make sense to read epic poems rather than listen to them being recited? Like with the Iliad, Odyssey, Aeneid, etc. they were traditionally memorized by bards and recited to crowds with musical accompaniment. So would it not be more authentic to experience them through audiobooks rather than actual print?
Shut up, retard.

Someone sounds upset they spent $80 on a Homer boxset they now realize is worthless.
They were edited when written down. It's not authentic oral poetry.
Thoughts on pic related? What are some other good war novels?
Enjoyable, but it's more about friendship than about war, Catch 22 or Slaughterhouse 5 are pretty great imo

The Unknown Soldiers by Vainno Linna
Matterhorn
Storm of Steel and On the Marble Cliffs
Sharpe Novels
The Erl King
The Siege of Krishnapur
The Underdogs by Azuela
All You Need is Kill
The Black March
Life and Fate
On Killing, The Black Jacobins, and Shake Hands with the Devil are good non-fic that arent direct war histories.
> the german unit goes to a "brothel" in France
> it's literally just a house of regular French women whose men are dead or dying somewhere else
> everybody gets laid
war never changes
Why do I have the attention spam of a democrat at a children's party?
I write 6 words and then I'm on 4chan shitposting for 10 minutes and watching an YouTube video.
I tried those "block everything and write" softwares but I know how to bypass them all.
What is wrong with me, /lit/? Is my body telling me that I'll never be the next James Joyce?
Have you tried not procrastinating? Works wonders senpai. Just a thought.
you seem to have such a weak will and work ethic that you probably need someone who will beat your ass and physically MAKE you work
You "can't write" because you tell yourself that you cannot. You are directing your will against your self. You, rather, own your will and your "writing."
What's some Weimar-core literature?
I'm just in the mood to read about a society on the precipice of falling into fascism for some reason.
Berlin Alexanderplatz
