We had a poetry critique thread a few weeks ago, and it was very productive for me. I've been working on a longer poem for a some time now, and I'd really appreciate any feedback. I'd also love to help with any stuff you're writing.

What meter are you using, what is the primary idea and arching themes of the piece, and what is the point of the undefined characters, the boxes?
It's quite long, so if you can give me a little insight before I die in, that'd help tremendously.

Relationship between suffering and musical inspiration
What undefined characters?
>>9959427
Before I get into it then, I would like to suggest that if you again create a piece of this length, free verse isn't your best bet. There needs to be something consistent for me, the reader, to fall onto; such as a repeated footing throughout, or a loose rhyme scheme--something where where I can hit it and feel the repetition and progression (rhythm) behind the words. Otherwise you're closer to purple prose than poetry, which I'm worried may be the case.
Once you address me about those blank characters, I'll get at it.

>Recommend me a movie where a good for nothing coward games the system as much as possible to make up for his lack of talent.
Why is he cowering like that?
>>9959210
He can't punched in the back of the head, but as long as he covers his head with his hands the fight won't be stopped because he's technically defending himself
Whomst are you quoting?
>the chapter with Bürgel
Holy shit.

Jog my memory
Waiting for Klamm was the one that had the biggest impact on me.
>>9960587
One of the last chapters. K. randomly enters Bürgel's room, who is a secretary of an official that has some responsibility on K.'s case. K. is dead tired and starts to fall asleep while Bürgel explains to him the low chances of them two meeting are, and how in such incredibly rare circumstances the party can just 'ask' and he will get his case solved.

Do you write your diary in English or your native language?
>inb4 english is my native language
>>9959061
shitskins OUT
>>9959061
I write it in Esperanto so as to confuse the local intelligence agencies. I also only use a quill, its sharp point doused in an invisible ink, you see, that not even my kin are allowed to unearth from the locked drawer within a locked drawer of my locked writing desk.
I try to write in my native language but I always end up writing in English since I live in an English speaking country and I speak this God forsaken language everyday. It feels bad because I love my native language I don't want to lose it.

>"Like that bell curve book"
>reeeeeeing internally but know if I reveal my power level in such an environment I'll at the least be expelled if not thrown from the roof outright.
>The rhetorical question smugness eventually dies down and the conclusion is reached that since white supremacists have reached their conclusions not based on evidence or fact there is no use in arguing with them.
>"not based on evidence"
>At this point I no longer have a tongue, chewed it all to pieces
>Then the discussion turns to "is it even possible to change someone's mind through argument," and, "what's the point?"
>"Are there some arguments that aren't even worth having because they're so morally abhorrent?"

Jordan Peterson was more right than I thought possible about the state of humanities education.
What do? How do I make it through a semester of this without being labeled a nazi?
Thats why I don't want to go to college
Trades are not such a good option in my country, and I know I will be hated and called a shithead for this, but I guess I will have a real hard time socializing at trade school because I'm a middle class autist that can only talk about abstractions (literature , music, humanities typical lit autism) and people who go to trade school are usually more of the sport's fans type, or other stuff like that.
But at college I would be in your same situation. Don't know whats worse, both options seem to end with me killing myself.
I really need to get a rich gf who lets me live the neetlife, but I'm ugly and autistic, there is zero hope.
I know I'm gonna make it, but I really don't see fucking how

What the fuck Gaddis, decide on what kind of quotation marks to use BEFORE you publish your book

Do you really not understand why he used them that way?

if you're too stupid to understand that, i suggest you drop the book
As someone who can't be rent from the Romantics (especially Wordsworth), how does one into T.S. Eliot and later American poets (Crane, WCW on down to John Ashbery)?
Is "The Waste Land" an introduction, or something that should be reserved?
>pls no Rum Tum Tugger
>>9958987
Always read aloud.
Prufrock is the best intro for modernism.
Read Frost and WCW at the same time.
Subscribe to a good poetry mag if you honestly want contemporary. Just don't get all triggered by liberals.
>>9958987
Oh and never, ever, ever try to 'understand' Ashbery. Just enjoy him.
>>9958987
The Waste Land is very dense. Perhaps save that for later. Just get a collection of Eliot's poetry, they're (the collections) typically short.
My best advice would be, yeah, start with Prufrock and then dip your toes in and around some of the other contemps. Typically they aren't as 'good' as older, more renowned pieces, but there are still gems within the contemporary scene.
What else is some recommended Fashcore reading? Already finished this.

Can someone here tell me something about an unabridged version in English?

What is this? I see it all the time in Right-wing threads but I have no idea what it's basis is and there is no information online
People basically hate bloggers, right? Outside of the tiny audience that reads blogs.
>>9958979
Yes
The only bloggers that are truly hated are those for whom blogging is their prime activity and their blogs are about whining about public affairs.
>Confession
Anyone else find this the hardest part about being a Christian? I'm Orthodox and we don't even use screens or confessionals
Talked a lot with my local (catholic) priest about masturbation before becoming an atheist

How do I start reading greek plays? Is there a comprehensive list of books that I should read about it?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Ancient_Greek_plays_by_writer
this is a list of all surviving Greek plays, I recommend you start with Oedipus Rex and the Theban trilogy
Get the translations by Richard Lattimore. Start with Euripides Or Sophocles. Enjoy!
So today was my first day in English class and one of the first things the teacher say's is, "You guys are going to be doing a lot of reading, but don't worry we won't be reading anything by old, dead white guys. Sorry, Mark Twain." Then she proceeded to show us a video made by Hieneken that showcases conservatives having a beer with neo- liberals. And at the end they all came to the conclusion that they all should fight the patriarchy. Heres the vid.

Question: Are these kind of people serious? Are they brainwashed?
>>9958891
Yes, this is the boomer mentality. They were the first generation to be cut off from their own heritage and raised on 100% jewish cultural indoctrination, mainly through television. Jews feel their main enemy is white men, so they have projected their hatred of us onto everyone else. This method, however, has been waring off with each subsequent generation of whites thereafter, and you are a testament to that OP. Now we have to hope minimal damage is caused between now, when the boomers die off, and when we are finally able to regain our strength and remove these jews for the whatever-hundredth time.
>>9958891
I hope you are just meming OP
I refuse to believe US education is in this state of degeneracy, you were meant to save western cultureI write this watching a pack of black africans that don't even speak my country's language just sitting on benches next to my house, texting and listening to music on smartphones they got for free from the government

Public or private? A real University or community college? The level of quality for an English 101 class varies wildly between these levels and the objective can be completely different. A community college course is trying to retain students and introduce them to slightly-better-than-highschool ideas. That means teaching to a lower common denominator and keeping students interested. A public University may still have some of those traits but with fully tenured professors who expect more. There's a lot of differences between professor to professor, school to school.
