This. Or maybe look for a smaller publishing house. Oneworld took tons when they were starting up, and then hit it out of the park and no longer take submissions.

It feels a little weird that Pynchon approved this to be honest. I haven't seen it (or read IV) but the other Pynchon I've read is very word-based. I can't imagine him working well in movie form

I haven't read the novel but I do enjoy the film. It's like Chinatown on acid.

Once you finish part one it becomes an actual narrative, instead of a grab bag of scenes.

If I hate melons and don't ever want to eat them I still need to know what exactly melons looks like.

I'm walking into the supermarket, I have been taught to avoid melons, I have read the manuscript. Green stripes and red inside, I know the drill.

Let's pick up this yellow fruit instead, that looks fun BAM I bought a fucking honey melon

Hey lit, just wanted to say thank you.

You have introduced me into the world of reading. I have found something that I have been missing in my life and have found great happiness through books suggested on this board.

You probably don't hear this enough but thank you for existing and I hope more plebs like me get introduced into the world of reading through this board.

Currently reading Demons.

Because I'm a retard.

They are The Recognitions and Underworld. Okay maybe the second one hasn't attained meme status but whatever.

Attention /lit/izens, bow to your king!

There is a reason it is called "the Book"

Poetry, history, philosophy, and theology all perfectly blended into a single edition and given the rightful stamp of "Holy". Lolita cannot stand in it's shadow, Aesop's Fables are not worthy of being it's footstool. Bow to the king of books you ignorant and unwise, Bow with all your might!

What other book contains all of history within it's pages? What other book more accurately summarizes the human condition and the solution? What book is there that can be upheld for centuries, in the face of persecution and censorship?

No one will remember the other novels written by mere mortals, but the Bible shall live forever with the words therein.

Reading the tunnel right now, the first 100 pages has been unalloyed joy. I am feeling the pure excitement of language, this book is glorious.

If you are on the fence, get off on the Gassy side. I am only 1/6th of the way through and am more then comfortable recommending this book, It could drop in quality 10 fold over the next 500 pages and It would still be worth it.

I am /pol/ and apparently this book discusses Hitler. Is it pro national socialist? Does he question the holocaust at all? If it's just going to be the uneducated mainstream version of history then I'm not interested. I'd really like to know before wasting time reading it. Thanks.

Prove to me the Tractatus isn't he best philosophy work ever made. This is the only book I take everywhere I go, no matter what. The most puzzling and enlightening book I have ever read. Prove me wrong.
Pro-tip: you can't.

Wiggy is like babby's first mindfuck

his ideas are so shallow and boring, and that's when he isn't playing pointless language games

all philosophical problems are not at bottom linguistic problems
>>
>>9317426
No. That was his later thinking of Language Games after the Tractatus, but when he said that all philosophical problems are due to inherent logic of our language, and that they are unsolvable, he totally hit the nail on the head.
>>
>>9317424
>Pro-tip: you can't.
We could if you gave an accurate list of all the philosophy you've read. Come on. You know it wouldn't be long.
