Don't force it. Do some research and find a book you can really enjoy. Read it as slow as you like, it's not some fucking race. If a book doesn't have it, drop it. At least for now. Try to read in comfy environment with mindset which corresponds with the book.

How many books should I attempt to read at a time? At what point am I just starting books to seek novelty? I rarely finish the books I start, and that distresses me. But confining myself to only one book at a time seems extreme. When I am only reading two books at once, I get bored easily.
