When he dies, where does his money go? Does it go to his wife? He has no kids.
Does he have relatives?

Have any of you who are trying to get published ever tried a pen name instead of your own?
>>9578780
Is the use of a "black" pen name wrong if you're "white"
>>9578780
I'm thinking something along the lines of:
Shaniqua "the disabled lesbian" Mohammed
I am a young white man from the upland south, writing books indebted to the venerable southern school of Faulkner, Penn Warren, and O'Connor. Four years ago I was living in a disused train depot on saltines and peanut butter. I wrote much of the night, sent query letters assiduously, got rejections from every third-, fourth-, tenth-rate agent and publishing house. Now I have two novels published and am preparing a collection of short stories. Here I will admit that this change of fortune was eventuated by a nom de plume. Obviously I can't reveal it, but I will tell you that the name is that of a black woman. Beyond a few close friends, my editor, and my agent this remains a secret. There are drawbacks, yes; I am forced to decline interviews, academic posts: the niceties afforded published authors are cut off from me. But this is something of a benison in that it allows me to focus on my work. I will not become a panderer or a dancing bear, which is exactly what Coates and Hooks and all these other black American authors have become. I do not regret what I have done.
Fucking Camus was such a normie retard. If he was ugly he wouldn't have written half the garbage he wrote. You can imagine sisyphus happy cause you were a fucking normie boning sluts left and right.
>>9578725
Sartre got laid more than Camus so you can't blame it on that. Face it desu you've got an issue with pretty folks
>>9578725
One part of Camus' philosophy was to sexually liberate himself. So you could say that he struggled with guilt or obligations.
>>9578731
> Sartre got laid more than Camus
Sorry, but no fucking way this is true.
Who are some writers that are effectively nu-male poison?

Why should I read books instead of playing videogames all day?
videogames are fun and books take effort.refute hedonism
You can play video games AND listen to audio books, I do it every day, an individual can read 3 books per week while I play WoW
>>9578679
If you've read consistently for a few years and still ask this question you're irredeemable.
>>9578679
You shouldn't. I need people like you to pick up my trash and serve me fast food.

>>9578673
Was he right? Does the friend/enemy distinction form the essence of the political? Is the liberal attempt to do away with this distinction self defeating?
>>9578483
>the liberal attempt to do away with this distinction
What? He also never said getting rid of politics would be a bad thing.
>>9578483
I think that the evolution of American and French politics during their respective post-revolutionary period shows the transition from unity to faction within the context of politics, which would counter the thesis in OP.
The current liberal attempt at hegemony of political thought is something else. I suspect it derives from the secularization of most of the left side of the political spectrum, and politics filling the void where religion used to be. Hence the heresy of small government conservatism and libertarianism, and the enemy-other in the right, which is truly the pagan to their true faith.
Someone who has read Schmitt, elaborate on his concepts regarding State of Emergencies and dictatorship, please
Hello /lit/. Pleb asking here.
I'd like to read a horror book that doesn't let me sleep at night. What are some recommendations? So far i have my eyes on Dracula, The Shining and The exorcist.
I don't think any of those, especially Dracula, is going to be scary for you at all.
What are you afraid of?
>>9578240
True crime (especially unresolved cases) will stop you from sleeping at night a lot quicker. They are the only thing that really spooked me when reading them in bed. There is some disturbing stuff out there.
>>9578246

So which one of you retards actually thinks the divine comedy is a good book? The whole thing is just an allegory of "finding god". You people are retarded.

who actually fucking cares about the size of a novel except pseuds?
What is genre fiction?
What is literary fiction?
What is the essential difference?
I don't know the definition, as I am not a dictionary, but you can recognize genre fiction very easily; as you read the book and you feel embarassed by doing so that may be THE genre fiction.
>>9577661
Fantasy, science fiction, horror, mystery, and romance are all genres because they all have their own emphases, tropes, and so on. The difference maybe is how much these aspects of genre are emphasized. For example Infinite Jest uses aspects of SF but it really wouldn't primarily be labeled as such
I don't think it's primarily a matter of whether a work has merit, since for example Lem is definitely SF but is of high literary merit
Literary fiction is character driven while genre fiction is plot driven.
what makes a good poem? what separates a good poem from a bad poem?
first off, good poems have lots of metaphors / alliteration
