You were right to be suspicious! You know you were picking up on something that was really there. You tested that in a sort of drastic way, but you realize it was extreme.
But you can talk to them about this without just confronting them with your proof.
You can tell them that you're worried their commitment to your transition isn't sincere, and that they don't use your new name and pronouns when you aren't around. That's all true! That unease you felt is no invasion of their privacy.
You don't even need to get them to admit they haven't been doing this to change the way you talk about it with them, and maybe get a chance to teach them something about this.
Like I said, tell them that this is really who you are, this is from now on and it it's who you've been for a long time, and that you want to know that your family really understands that.
And that it will be harder to trust them, or be around them, if you can't be sure that they really accept that.
They might tell you why they don't buy it. You might be able to start a conversation about the problem underneath all this faking.
You might learn that they have no intention of being honest with you.
But if nothing else, you might learn the story behind your recordings, and give them a chance to learn how to really accept you
