In all honesty, you can expect depression for a while. Post Op depression, caused by the anesthetics iirc, is very common. Make sure you have someone to help you through it- preferably a friend or loved one.

Physically, it's gonna be hideous for a while, which doesn't help with PO depression. You will have undergone a major reconstructive surgery- that takes a long time to heal.

Dilating may be painful at first. You might be pretty numb down there for a while.

After a while (6 months to a year), it starts to get better. Appearance improves, sensation comes back, pain goes away, etc etc.

Clothes will fit much better. No more fear with things like going to the gym or the beach. Sex and/or masturbation will likely be much less dysphoria inducing.

Outside of that, it's the standard stuff. Don't go in expecting a pornstar vulva, don't imagine all of your dysphoria will be gone, don't get it in your mind that you'll be just like a cis girl, etc etc. That's all standard stuff- it's just about knowing the realities of the situation.
