You really are hung up on the this. The separation of the two isnt a recent thing. These two definitions have been separate terms for a long time. Im not engaging in this argument because I literally do not have time to argue over an anthropological connection of two terms that are mistakenly used interchangeably.
If you want answers, go take a gender studies class or reread your argument and see that you are hung up on the idea of sex and gender are incapable of being divorced from each other when there are obvious real world examples of that being not true. Or better yet, just google the definition of the word "Gender", followed by the word "Sex" and then try to understand the definitions without bias holding you back.
