I managed to get my prescription for those estradiol patches filled and I also requested a second opinion from my primary care doctor's office for another endocrinologist. I can do literally nothing. They have been in a lot of pain and are starting treatment but they don't even want to control the physical pain because that's really not even a fraction of what's hurting.

I can't do anything and I just make them sadder when I'm around them because they feel guilt for making me sad.

I actually was just nauseous from the spinal they gave me. I actually never had enough pain to take anything stronger than the tylenol that they gave us there, but I was definitely offered everything almost. I didn't want more nausea, so I went light on it. The first 6 days did really suck until they started removing the bandages, and releasing the sutures and stint. Sleeping was really uncomfortable too, while not quite painful.

I would highly recommend getting on AAs first, it's tough to say how this would affect your puberty, if you'd have one at all, but basically E doesn't do anything when T is there. If you have a REALLY high dosage of E then it can be an anti-androgen by itself but patches wouldn't be giving you that i don't think. Lots of doctors inexperienced with this stuff will try and do this, try and get an AA or selfmed one asap

I have no complaints with appearance, but it is still healing. I went for a checkup with my doctor though, and the prep nurse thought I had gotten a revision, not a new one, that is how healed it was. I stopped seeing blood clots by the second week. By the third week, my bruises and external swelling were completely gone.

Obviously I am not at the functionality levels of it, so I can't really comment on feeling. But I can tell you that the depth and elasticity while dilating tell me it is fully functional in that regards, and I haven't had any trouble at all so far with that.

It will not hurt you to start on patches, if it's something like 50 or 100 it might not be enough but as long as you're getting bloods done you'll know. If you don't trust your doctor then do get a second opinion and ask them both how much they know about AAs. Get a copy of all your blood tests too so you can look at your levels.
we tend to nuke our systems because we want fast results and it absolutely works but it's better for you to just be taking oestrogen if you can, spiro is a really bad drug. if you were self medding I'd say buy some AAs but you're not so I think you should do this properly. I believe the last time it came up one of my doctors called it either a dirty or filthy drug

I definitely don't think you should start self medicating now and instead get your bloods done and look at your e and t levels and also ask them if they can prescribe you some AAs if your t levels are not dropping. they might bump your estrogen meds instead, if they do that then again I would probably just take the increased e dose and see if your t levels drop, if they don't and they still don't want to give you AAs and you're at like 200micrograms in patches then would be the time to really talk to other doctors. of course getting a second opinion doesn't hurt whenever you do it.

Hyperkalemia isn't a huge concern, just make sure you don't eat much potassium and drink lots of water, and get tasty salt in your diet. The main thing to watch is your blood pressure, since spironolactone's original use was as a high blood pressure medication, so if you have low blood pressure you shouldn't take it but otherwise it's fine. The main side effects are that it'll make you pee more and you might get more fatigued.

Both will be mostly covered by most US insurance plans if you meet certain requirements after about a year to two years in, and you don't really need to start worrying about getting off an AA until a few years in at the earliest, as long as you don't have any issues.
