Now, sure, you might not feel "being yourself" justifies the danger, but I mean we all work towards being ourselves despite social stigma one way or another. Maybe not as visibly, but still.
Even if you think it's for them, telling someone not to be themselves just never works. You wanna help? Try going for a positive approach. Think about how, knowing the danger, it's a very hard choice. How much courage it takes.
