what happened to /lgbt?
>>8161546
Cara.
>>8161585
Not OP but I don't know what happenned either, can someone explain a bit ? Thanks
>>8161716
Nothing, imageboard culture as a whole is dying, it's just more obvious on boards that were smaller to begin with.
>>8161765
true, maybe is better is way.
>>8161546
Threads are made too quickly now. 3 years ago you could have a thread on the board for two days or more without bumping it. Now a thread at the top can be near the bottom by the end of the day.
>>8161765
>imageboard culture as a whole is dying,
no ;_; why?
>>8161945
that's because of all the trash anti threads like made by people like Cara and /pol/tards.
>>8162045
all cara threads are pro-trans
>>8161955
normies
>>8162164
this
>>8161955
I think it has mostly to do with the rise of other means of communication like discord / Snapchat / etc and also the fact that 4chan has been around for like 13 years, but I'm kinda talking out of my ass so I could be wrong.
>>8161765
Popular boards like /r9k/ are showing signs as well.
>>8163413
There have been chat protocols for decades.
>>8163496
That's true.. maybe I'm wrong, discord / Snapchat / Skype / etc all feel much more accessible and user friendly in comparison to something like irc though. I've tried looking for articles or papers about the state of image board culture because I find the subject somewhat interesting but have been unable to find anything that addresses what we are talking about, i'm mostly speaking from intuition and what I've observed personally.
>>8163556
I hope they don't die. I hate all those chats...
>>8162147
>All Caraposter threads are garbage*
Fixed.
>>8161546
Faceapp, Blanchard, Blaire White, and Caraposter
>>8164960
none of those are bad
>>8166594
>All of those are bad
ftfy
>>8166594
Two of them are.
>>8161546
>what happened to /lgbt?
a few vocal shitposters alienated everyone but the most autistic shut-ins and bored /pol/tards looking for feminine benis.
what you see here today is the result of years of atrophy and neglect.
>>8166680
I would argue that Narcissism is what killed /lgbt/
So many self-centered cam-whores posting their fugly, poorly-lit rateme! pics that any sane person immediately left in disgust.
That and the whiny "why even live?" cringe threads about suicide and self-acceptance.
I need therapy after every time I come here.
>>8161546
When was this board even good?
Jiu Jittsu Ejaculation is the only good post I've seen here.
>>8161765
>imageboard culture as a whole is dying
What? 4chan is literally more popular now than ever before.
>>8166773
Really? I don't know about the bigger boards but all the smaller boards like /lit and /lgbt have definitely gotten noticeably smaller since I started browsing hem a couple years ago. Granted that isn't very long in the grand scheme of things but also considering how this is the last thing of the active chans I know about besides 8ch which is total garbage it feels like the concept of imageboards have past their prime.
>>8166859
>which is total garbage
???
>>8166773
>more popular now
I've noticed a tremendous drop in activity since i started browsing in 2009
It seems like all the interesting people left several years ago and now there is just whinging and trolling and racism
>>8166892
What am I not entitled to my own opinion?
>>8166962
lots of anonymous trolls attacking and driving off anybody who is successful in any way.
>>8167025
i just wondered how. the software, the community, which boards are active, how dead it is, etc?
>>8167083
You are probably better off checking it out yourself rather then taking my word but the most active boards are /pol at nearly 500 PPH, /v at 350, /leftypol at 200, and /b at 120. Everything else is relatively slow or dead. And to answer your question i'm not interested in any of the active boards on 8ch to be honest.
>>8167130
i visit there and the slow speed isn't too bad imo. i can check back threads days later.
but ofc i wish there faster lgbt boards. each letter could have their own.
>>8167165
>i wish there faster lgbt boards.
me too : (
>>8167193
last i checked /lgbt/ there was entirely dead...
>>8162045
It's certainly gotten worse since Caraposter came along, but it was speeding up since before he got here.
