I'm still iffy about mom giving me Bambi as middle name. It's cool and all, and not really something I have to use often as it's just a middle name, but could I get clocked or not taken seriously by employers or something?
>>
Lily, was a Jake before.

>>8160744
Good name.

>>8160748
Common name with bonus points for all the variations you can use.

Jolien. I'm dutch, my last name starts with Jo so it has a nice flow to it as well as being an ultra common name. also my drag name is Jojo
>>

I'm a spaniard, so is ok.
Most anglo speakers I know confuse it with either Carla or Clare.

In the event my mother fails to come up with a name I like/can take I'm going with Emilia or Elizabeth.

>>8160766

I wouldn't think much of it. People have all sorts of weird shit for middle names. But I'm just another tranny, so who knows what my opinion is worth.
>>
Isabelle

Was going to name my daughter it after hearing it from a friends episode when i was a child

I chose Alice 2 years ago and then it just became a meme name. Sucks but oh well I made the decision and I liked it then.

>>
>>8160833

I forgot to say that if I go with Elizabeth I'll be using Elisa as my nickname. The main reason I picked those two names was because they're pronounced pretty similarly in Spanish and English while still not being used by anyone I know. I don't want to end up like my cousin who has her name pronounced entirely differently depending on the language.

>>8160858

You should at least use HRT.

>>8160859

>>
>>8161077
From 4to21 i considered myself female in mannerisms but never pursued it. The first time i knew i was a girl was seeing a video of myself interacting with others at 4 years old. Kindergarten and 1st grade really solidified it tbqh. 17 was when i really wanted to do it but idk the whole thing weirded me out. 19 i went to 420chan /cd/ and made a crossdressing thread and they got all pissed off made a 400 reply thread and the trips there scared me off on the whole thing in general. I decided to lift at 21 or so to "man up". I still get results from life but i dont feel like a man and never have and reality just doesnt match idk.

Legit wish i just transitioned at a younger age. I still learned a bunch but i think if i became "myself" progress would achieve better...idk im just rambling tho tbqh.
>>
>>8161103
How old are you now? I mean if it's been a lifelong thing for you it will probably always be there. I wont try to convince you to transition if you're content with your life but it seems like it has been bothering you for awhile.

I like erping lmao. I dont have sexual attraction to trans people specifically but i erp with everyone lmao male female whatever. Its role play plus i used to enjoy invading generals idk. I enjoy attention im histrionic but i think if i transition i settle down. Im pretty calm now.

I saw the video when i was like 5 of me when i was 4 interacting. Basically just me stealing the spotlight being an asshole to be center of attention but in a feminine way. First timei really thought about actions i guess idk.

I FUCKING KNOW.
God Ive had to deal with this name my entire life. It was bad enough when that one song came out when I was in middle school and everybody who heard it thought they where the most clever mother fucker on the planet by singing that every time my name is mentioned (to this day I still get people doing it). but then I learned in high school that Tyrone is shorthand for generic black gang banger. God you have no idea how fucking infuriating that is and how much weight that puts on someone.
I hated this name since before I even knew what being trans is. The only reason I haven't changed my name yet is because Im putting off telling my parents im trans (some black people dont take /lgbt/ related things very well).

Indeed I am the transvoice teacher. Yes, you have the general idea correct. I usually teach on Skype because I broadcast with cam so I can illustrate things my hands/body and build rapport.

I don't really check my twitter often. The best way to get ahold of me is on my work skype: Dreamsura.

I accept payment through paypal based on the hours we do or book.

My teaching style and approach to transgender voice is a modular view of the voice as an instrument. I have synthesized my technique through study of linguistics, vocal pedagogy, vocal anatomy, and pyschoacoustics.

>students have a camera too or is it fine as long as I have a good quality microphone? Are the lessons one-on-one?
All lessons are One-on-One unless a party has a specific request for group lessons. A camera is not required. Many of my students are too shy to go on cam which is no issue. A microphone is needed, it doesn't have to be that great of quality. Most consumer grade laptop mics or headsets are fine.

>Do you require a minimum number of hours in advanc

No. No minimum and I am flexible with the payment schedule. Some of my students pay in advance and others pay at the start of each lesson.

Some of my students don't like setting times so they will just message me and ask if I'm free. If I am, we start our lesson and they pay after.

>some trouble with PayPal if too much has to be paid at once?
Nah, I actual prefer lump sum advance payments if the student is okay with it.

>Is that how a person perceives sound?
yes. Pyschoacoustics is the perception of sound. This is a field that interests me greatly and the psychoacoustics of gender perception in audio is something I am always learning more about.

>when did you start learning music?

I started teaching myself music theory and music when I was 15. I was self taught till 19. I have a degree in music composition. I play all instruments but specialize in percussion and piano. I have vocal training, yes. But most of my knowledge of voice has come after my formal education. Born out of necessity for obtaining a female voice. So I got in touch with old vocal professors, research friends, speech therapists, etc, and I started chatting with them about key publications in their fields on this subject.

I think the biggest benefit to my lessons is I have the real, lived experience of being transgender and living in anxiety of my male voice. Most speech therapists are cis-gender and will never understand what its like to be robbed of the most beautiful tool for self expression: voice. They just don't get it.

We were both high school freshmen in the same science class. AGP by the fact Mason was hitting on at least two girls in class. One was Margot, the other's name escapes me. They sexually harassed Margot as a 4-man group with some other boys at the front of the class up until the girls in the class and teachers got them to back off. I think one of the gay boys helped out too by harassing them during PE. Mason continued by switching to the second girl, who welcomed the comments.

But anyway, the tranny part is from when Mason asked the other guys something. They asked something like, "It's normal to want to be a girl, right, guys?" The other guys shook their heads and said it wasn't.

>How long would you say it would take for someone to get to your level? Do you recommend students take like a week off to practice solo in between lessons?

The fastest I've had was a student who got the technique nearly perfect in 1 week. She has a totally passable cis voice now and has no problems with it anymore.

I expect significant improvement by at least 3-4 lessons. I don't really do much with the girl voice in the first 1-2 lessons, just simply outline concepts and get the student vocalizing in ALL ways, not just a girl direction.

Some take a week to practice between lessons some take 3 days. It's whatever you think works best for you. I think ~5 days is good between each lesson.

>Tell me more about the second girl and the comments.

The second girl was a dark Haitian. She was friends with another girl who was a much lighter-skinned Black and they both sat at the back of the class. The lighter-skinned one was the one who had the better body, and she used makeup well. The other three guys didn't hit on her, I think it was entirely because they weren't into her for being Black rather than being scared straight. As for the comments, he might have said something like she has a nice ass and commenting on her breasts. It's been 8 years and it's not really essential info for my daily life. I remember they both smiled and she enjoyed those comments a lot.

>Oh my. That's certainly suggestive. How did it come up?

I don't really recall. Maybe it was that someone asked what you would do if you were a girl for a day. I might have just not been paying attention prior to that moment or just forgot.

I know another from that school who I'm sure was an AGP tranny as well.

>wanting a woman to have an AGP boyfriend

Do you want her to suffer? Anyway, I'll never know unless I go to the high school reunion, which might not happen since I transferred out at the end of that year. I want to though.

The other AGP was a kid who was my friend for 6-8 grades. They made me laugh, though quite a bit of their jokes were at how I was a weirdo. I've resented that since. He also had this short, black-haired kid as a friend. We stopped associating when we got to high school. They joined the football team as JV. When spirit week came along near the end of the year, the first day was crossdressing day (which I didn't know about, maybe I would have tried had I known, or maybe I would have just taken my sad ass to school normally because I'm sure my parents would have objected). So I saw this really tall girl walking from the other way that day, and I was thinking she was extremely pretty, wondering if she was a new transfer student. When I got closer, I got a better look and realized it was them. From /lgbt/, I know that cis males don't put real effort into trying to look female when the opportunity presents itself, pretty much only repressed trannies do (excluding drag queens). So that's why I say they're AGP and a tranny. I think they were already near 6 feet tall by that point, so I'm not sure if they transitioned.

I had seen the lesbian/FtM around since middle school, I think. But I never really talked to them. They were also black. They were always butch for as long as I had known them, but they turned it up to 11 in 9th grade. I stared at them a lot because it was as quite of an oddity for me. As I recall, they wore their pants sagging below their ass, just like what was popular for young black males to do back then and they wore boxers. Knowing they were biologically female, that seemed like such a risky move even if it was a mostly white suburban school. They walked a lot like how you would see a guy a walk. They dated a pale-skinned bisexual Hispanic girl for what I think was the entirety of the year. And they were quite public with their affection, which thinking back to the way that was treated in middle school it's a little odd it was allowed in high school.

>>8163694

>Geraldine

I had a tall, White Mexican classmate with (natural?) red hair who was named Geraldine. Girl #triggered me when she made some comment suggesting sex or something to me one day. Because I was 15, I had erections every day at school during two points of the day. One of them was when we had to stand up to salute the flag (yes, I realize now as I type this that erections are sometimes called salutes). Geraldine decided to stare at my dick one day (I was hoping no one would notice or at least not ever comment on it, honestly) and then she said something that I tuned out because I felt so bad that another girl was trying to get in my pants. From the first few words it seemed like she was flirting. I wanted it to be over.

The reason I always stood up despite the clockwork erection was because the teacher of that class I think was a war veteran, or at least pretty pro-American, so I wasn't going to get into some mess with him and draw more attention.

The first name you listed is terrible. I don't know where you got it from. Petunia isn't great either. What made you pick these names?

>Wow. How good was she at the start then?
Totally novice. She had been transitioning for 2 years and had attempted a voice but never used it publicly or anything. It was pretty androgynous but not passing. She acquired my technique very quickly.

Lately I have been teaching her how to cough, laugh, clear throat, breath, etc with female sound.

>Why would she suffer? Anyway I didn't say boyfriend.

I doubt she was a lesbian. Most women are quite upset when their male partner says, "I'm a woman" after she's already invested in the relationship.

>What comments did Mason make that she liked so much?

I said earlier I don't recall. Things about her ass, maybe commentary about her legs. I'm sure they said something about Margot's legs.

>Can't you go anyway despite transferring?

That depends on what the committee arranging the reunion decide. I hear some limit reunions just to graduating members of the year, and others are pretty open to include people like under and upperclassmen. There's also the issue of how I will even find out about the details of the reunion like when and where. I didn't order a yearbook and I didn't have my photo taken so I won't appear in it. If anyone happens to want to see me at the reunion, they will have no clue how to contact me either.

>Or just look all these people up on facebook.

I don't know anyone's full name since I was quite intentionally a loner. Looking up the alumni site for the school, only two people from my year are registered with photos. One I don't recognize at all, and the other's first name rings a bell, but if it's who I think it is, he lost tons of weight + puberty virilized him tremendously. The other people who are just listed but don't have accounts aren't recognizable either.

I feel like I saw lots of people naming their sons all forms of -aiden -aden around maybe 2010ish or late 00s early 10s in general, caden and brayden are probably less common ones you'd choose because you know theres a bunch of aidens and jaidens already
>>
I'm thinking of going with Emma.
>>
>>8168569
why is a vietnamese family calling their child brayden

seems like it's a common for asians to give their kids english names so they can assimilate

when I was in school I had like 10 korean or chinese friends all named Josh, so it must mean Brayden is popular enough of a name that they would choose it
>>
>>8168613
Nguyen is Vietnamese.
>>

>>seems like it's a common for asians to give their kids english names so they can assimilate
I'm aware of that but... Brayden... Where I come from (England) foreigners try to give their kids normal/traditional names like John if they're going to give them an English name, not these weird made up names from the 2010s.

My name works both ways but I don't know if I want to change it or not. the only other popular female name from my birth year that I liked was sofia.

Can someone repost it?

>older brother used to call me Melon head when i was like 3-4yo to make me cry
>Melon becomes my nickname
>in my twenties and family still call me Melon
>came out to older brother and he calls me Melony
>Melony is my name now and i love it :)
>>
4ever Repressing but IN THEORY I like Octavia. Is it shit?
>>
>>8172972
It's very much a perceptibly trans name. Does sound really nice though
>>
>>8172972
If you like names like that you can select names with that pattern in the short range: Maura, Mara, Lana, Dana, etc.
Every name is a meme whenever a trans woman has it though :/
>>
>>8173200
But it's there any name that is not perceptibly trans when you are being told it's going to be used by a transperson?
>>
>>8160744
I love this name, I'd have chosen it if I ever thought I'd pass. Instead I'm going with Reilly because I'm forever boymode.

Finn, from finn

It's more masculine than my current chosen name (Sacha), at least. And in case I don't pass, at least I won't be seen as a complete freak.
>>
>>8179920
Cute, nice, not special snowflake. A little informal.
>>
I'm non-binary and I'm thinking of changing my name to France and going by Frankie. What do you guys think?
>>
I always wished my parents gave me a Chinese name instead of David. So something like Mei li.
>>
>>8181485

Why France and not Francis?

>>8181602

I'm guessing you're Chinese.
>>
>>8168487
My ex bf was named Brayden and he was cis (I'm a cis gay guy btw)
>>
Jessica
>>
>>8181611
Francis is a guy's name and Frances is a girl's iirc?
I want something that isn't gendered.
>>8181602
Change your name to something Chinese then? If you're already changing it, might as well make it whatever you want.
>>
>>8181654

>Francis is a guy's name and Frances is a girl's iirc?

Is it? I've never heard of Frances. I've heard of Francesca, but that's a different language's form of Francisca.

Charlotte, but people call me Charlie, which I actually find cute.

Im a Morgan
>>8167746
Ive never met a male Morgan, one of those 90% fem names, in my opinion.
I've never been misgendered because of my name, but I've also /only/ been misgendered by spiteful family
>>
>>8186690
>Ive never met a male Morgan,
So Morgan wasn't your boyname?
>>
>>8186706
Oh how I wish, that'd be so much cheaper than a namechange was
>>
>>8186716
How much did a name change cost?
>>
>>8186750
In ohio, it was 120 for the hearing, 40 for the newpaper listing, then the cost of updated IDs. 100% worth it though
>>
>>8186750
but depending on your state, you might not even need a hearing. I just said "common usage" if it needs a reason
>>
>>8186755
There was a hearing?! What evidence or justification could they ask for?!
>>
>>8186799
In ohio, it requires a hearing, no matter what. I know ny does too. It doesnt take long, just nerve wracking. Best part of my transition so far
>>
Rory
>>
>>8186813
What happens in it? Why was it the best part?
>>
>>8186900
no the name change is the best part. The hearing is just, in my case, go up, bring in the affidavit saying i posted in a newspaper, and then the judge arbitrates. like if you go with rainbow sparklebutt, he might be like "yeah nah" but with a normal name, they really dont have grounds to deny a name change
>>
>>8160962
You're an idiot and I hope people misgender you.
>>
>>8186755

Weren't you worried about the publishing requirement, or is it only published in a physical newspaper and not online?
>>
>>8160739
Jason
>>
>>8187863
I am, but if you can demonstrate a legitamate safety concern, you can get it exempt. what state do you live in?
It was a physical paper for me. But my address, full old and new name posted :/
its a really stupid requirement, imo.
