I understand, I was similar, trust me. Every time it came for a vaccine I'd have to be held down by a nurse or my family, otherwise I'd physically fight them or try to run. I once kicked a nurse off her stool, and hid behind a bed in the corner.
When I got my first blood test done, it hurt and was scary, I sat up too quick and soon so I got light headed, and I lost my vision and hearing temporarily. I ended up laying on the floor of the hall and had nurses just walking over me as I recovered.
So trust me, it was agonizing going in for a blood test to start HRT. I sat on the floor of the room next to a garbage can because I thought I was gonna puke. It took a lot of will to keep myself calm and actually go through with it, but remember, HRT is worth the tiny blip of pain in your day.
You'll get through it.
Take a breath and calm yourself down. Remind yourself it's only temporary and will be over before you know it. Think about how good it's gonna feel when it's finally over. Focus your thoughts on what you're going to do later that day instead of building up the blood test as a huge event. Treat everything like a normal day and do your best not to panic.
If you're as bad as I was, your doctor may prescribe you xanax for future appointments. But I got used to things as I kept going in, and I haven't needed to take a xanax at all since December. Last week when I got my blood drawn, I went in alone, without any medication, and even sat up for the test. That's a huge amount of progress from panic attacks.
Eventually, you'll get there too. Keep thinking about that, how one day this'll be a breeze for you. Keep your goals in mind and determine you're going to get there.
