Did any of you guys go through a time when you were really religious?

I was extremely religious by choice until I was about 11-12 which was when started to realize that the church I attended held beliefs that deeply conflicted with my own internal sense of morality, so I stopped going / caring about organized religion and eventually became agnostic.

It probably would of been a lot of more difficult to detach my self from religion if my parents were also extremely religious but l became interested in church through my neighbors.

I went to a catholic school.
That's it.

Forced to go to a christian school, but I never really believed any of their religious non-sense. I was an atheist at a young age and always fought the notion of god. That said, a lot of the gay hating rubbed off and I felt utterly disgusted by myself for many years until I eventually escaped my toxic mindset.

My parents made me go to church all the time as a kid. My gf had a similar experience and now we have matching shirts that say "catholic guilt."
