I've recently started a lifting regimen and the thing that keeps me coming back is the small amount of progress I've gotten thus far. I mostly stick to machines and dumbells, though I know (from reading shit like Starting Strength) that squats and benches and presses are the way to go, but don't you need a spotter for that stuff?
