The actual study said HSTS MtFs have an average IQ of 107. Sillyolme, however, says that the scientists made an error in classifying into HSTS or AGP based on self-reported orientation. That way, two MtFs who had been married to women before yet reported themselves as attracted to men exclusively were sorted into the HSTS category. She then used the average AGP IQ of 120 or 121 to calculate the average of the actual HSTS participants as 98. Which is why I said it was more just average IQ.

the general school of thought is that, on the mtf side of things, hstses have average iqs and agps have high. ftms seem to have high iqs regardless of type. the high iq effect in transsexualism seems more related to entry barriers than anything -- it is hard to transition agp unless you have the kind of social capital that mostly high iq people have, and it used to be hard to transition ftm in general because of how little awareness there was on the topic. i would assume the ftm effect has been muted, and the agp effect is still present but not as strong (much as how agps are still later transitioners but people like /tttt/ are swamping the signal). see the study that >>7837338 >>7838965 mentioned.
people are also stupid about iq because everyone on the internet thinks theirs is 150. here's a chart showing how common any given iq actually is:

as you can see, an iq of 113 -- which the internet thinks is average -- would put you in the top 20% of the population. because the general population iq range is so narrow and pop culture has so many high-iq characters who aren't, people tend to greatly overestimate the iqs of themselves and the people around you. the 'smartest guy in the room', if the room is of average size and randomly selected, is probably around iq 125.
