Help me femgen - just got diagnosed with Acquired Progressive Kinking of the Hair (APKH) which is a really weird and gross looking form of balding. Pic attached is not me, but what it can look like. Unlike in regular hairloss, people with APKH can lose the hair on the sides and back of their head too. I'm already on 1.25mg of Finasteride, but it only very mildly helps apparently.

Have people noticed a significant increase or improvement in general hair growth with bica + ralox? Anything that is meant to improve hair growth is meant to help to some degree. Seriously devastated right now, don't know what to do.

Although anecdotal, all the evidence I've found online points to raloxifene causing hair loss. That being said it seems to be 50/50. On the other hand, in the people that it doesn't cause hair loss it has never been reported to improve growth. So it's a toss up between no improvement and worsening.

Estriol as a bioidentical estrogen is going to be a lot safer than premarin from the thrombosis front. Compared to estradiol, its use isn't anywhere near as high risk of developing estrogen sensitive breast cancer (which is on both sides of my family) as estradiol is.

I just skimmed a couple journal articles on it and as far as I can tell everyone with APKH is male. That means it's probably caused by androgens. Finasteride prevents the conversion of testosterone (an androgen) to DHT (another androgen that's mostly responsible for male pattern baldness). It may be worth blocking testosterone too to see if it helps. Bicalutamide does that, as do other antiandrogens.

People here suggest taking raloxifene to combat the effects of not having a sex hormone in the body: osteoporosis, low energy, depression. It is unlikely to have any effect on your hair situation.

I'm not trained in medicine or anything, so everything I said might be complete bullshit. Just trying to give you a starting point. Research for yourself.

You will have no control of your life in the military and you will never get these years back.

You can always make something of yourself even when starting from scratch, but you will have to rely a great deal on charity and the government. I have heard many homeless people profess that it isn't too bad as long as you live somewhere warm.

it's my parents, they've both been in the military since their 20's, I've had part time jobs here and there but it's not enough to allow them to "house me" and they keep bringing up that I need to come up with a plan for becoming financially stable that ends with me leaving, which makes sense, but every time there's been a lot of arguments lately and I've kind of agreed to them helping me foster a military career just to get them off my ass.

OP here, I'd never heard of anyone talk about Duavee on this thread before so thought I'd mention it. Bazedoxifene is really similar to raloxifene, and would have potential if it was sold on it's own. Currently though it's only sold as a component of Duavee, which you have rightly said increases risk of deep vein thrombosis, blood clots and stroke. Even Pfizer recommends that it's taken for the shortest amount of time possible due to the sides.

I once knew a person who was 6"4, he was basically a gentle giant. He would get bullied at work and never did anything to intimidate back because he didn't enjoy conflict. What you wouldn't know about the person was he actually wanted to be a tiny woman, like under 5"7 gorgeous girl and it pains him everyday.

At some point, your body is just unsalvagable and you may never be as beautiful as you wish to be.

Well, like I said don't be a hypochondriac. I've got full fucking hardcore stupid on mine. 50mg bica and 60mg Ralox straight away, and nearing my 9th day now now.

Just so everyone knows, a contributing factor to the long half-life of bicalutamide is the fact that it is apparently highly lipophilic. If fat is suddenly gained in large amounts, then it might stay inside those fat cells, causing androgen receptors to become temporarily unblocked. This is not too much of an issue, except that dihydrotestosterone will be raised while on bicalutamide. This is also not too much of an issue, except it can cause strange events at the adrenal glands. So, if you are going to gain weight while on bicalutamide, do it slowly, be careful with eating fat-rich foods, and see a doctor did you feel unwell. Most of you are apparently starving yourself's anyway the fact that I have said not too any way, but I though it would be important to let you people know.

I would advise getting a pill cutter. Dosages in transwomen typically range from 12.5-50 mg per day. 50 mg per day is at the top of that range, but it should be fine. 25 mg per day is also fine, and dosage can be increased if needed.
