Well if there are steep tarriffs on Chinese goods then we either get them cheaper from some other place that isn't a shitty currency manipulator or we make them ourselves, creating manufacturing jobs.

Also, as long as reducing the overall tax rate of corporations is met with proportionate elimination of loop holes that allows them to get off paying next to nothing then it will result in higher tax revenue.

As far as a wall goes, yeah it's stupid for a number of reasons. Still, actually enforcing the border to prevent illegal immigration would be fine. inb4 "but American's don't want those dumb jobs" meme. At least it would possibly result in the revaluation of a 2 or 4 year college degree, since those unskilled jobs could be filled with simply a High School diploma. Since they're currently being taken by illegal economic migrants though, it's not too much wonder why the value of a college degree has plummeted; everyone wants one now because they can't get those jobs requiring less skill.

Although I'm not unsympathetic to those trying to enter the country illegally through the Mexican border that are actually fleeing from hell holes like Honduras (Thanks for that one HRC). imo they should be able to apply for asylum, similar to how Cubans were able to if they were able to reach Florida.

Although I would like to amend one point; I don't know whether low skill jobs are all that competitive now anyways, and I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't. Even still, a country has the right to protect its own borders and choose who they want to allow into the country. So regardless on any possible economic impact, border security would still be justified on principle alone.

The federal government should be more inclined to sell their federal assets, increase prices on licenses, deregulate nuclear energy to make it more affordable, and put a regulation on companies so that they have to take in local equity before merging, moving, being acquitted, or filing for bankruptcy.
