It's better to keep your skin healthy than trying to scrape every hair off even if its not perfectly smooth everywhere.
Shaving is always gonna irritate your skin somewhat, and doing what you're doing is only compounding the problem and no amount of cleansers or otherwise will fix that.

Also, plenty of people don't feel erased simply because their gender isn't constantly acknowledged. I know I don't--I feel erased primarily when people do double-takes when learning my gender or when girls are seen as some kind of rare beast.

"girls" is much closer in meaning to "boys", "guys" is tbqf the most gender neutral word we have unless you're going to say "sup people", which feels a little more formal. Idk, I say "people" or "friends" more than "guys" but those both feel more formal than I want.

I razor shave like twice a week now, could probably manage doing every other day, and while I end up with some stubble between days, I rarely have problems with burn or rash. Most people seeking the perfect smooth are just too aggressive with the razor. I even shave against the grain and don't get ingrown hairs.

yeah you do have to lay still as much as you can, I was shaking a little sometimes from the pain, you can use numbing cream but I didn't because they said it can get in the follicles which I guess would cause irritation and maybe acne. You can go in and do a test for 5 minutes, I got lucky and they had 30 minutes for me during the consultation so I just got a 30 min appoint in right there and then and I really like the results.
