They are more than likely just trying to be nice or possibly have something against FFS itself. Though that is a presumption (on the latter) and I could be very wrong. None the less, if you don't pass, then get FFS. That's really the best solution for you. What made me realize this was when I was at work and a transgirl walked upto us and asked us a question. I could tell right away being trans and spotting all the signs. My coworker had no clue when I mentioned it afterward. Like legitimately unknowing. Then asked me which way ftm or mtf and I told her. She had no idea.

You and other trans people are far more likely to notice the little things then others.
