This is the Trans Help General thread. We'll try to help you here with everything related to being transgender.
This includes questioning, appearance, daily trans problems, medical info, general info and other interesting stuff to name a few.
MTF, FTM and questioning people are all welcome here to help eachother and discuss possible solutions.
You can also share your transgender related stories here. Just came out? Or you just need to get something off your chest?
Maybe something wonderful happened today! We'll be glad to hear it, it's always good to know we're not going through this alone.

Kinley Mochrie... Why must all our spokes people be so stupid about transition. Like clearly this person hasn't started or just started HRT. If they posted in a passing thread here they would get torn up. WHY Do people think presenting female is just slapping on lipstick and saying I'm a woman. That paints such a bad picture about the transgender community.
There are things good and bad about what they are saying like:

I can remember saying something similar to my parents when I first came out. But, hearing that now just seems so dismissive.
I am really glad that Colin is championing the cause, but something just feels really off about this.
Then Kinley's message:

I want to move to a different state in a few years after I get my degree(programming). I just want to move to a new city and live as a grill, but I'm afraid of completely fucking up,not finding a job and end up being a a typical tranny sexworker to survive.
Has anyone here ever done this? Pitfalls? Tips?

Don't move without a job. You will get more interviews and such if you're local but if you don't land a job before your savings run out you're fucked. If your still in school try applying for paid internships (you'll probably have to apply to hundreds to actually get one) in places you want to live (even if the pay is minimum wage). If you get an internship sublet a cheap room or apartment off of craigslist or something. You may have to live outside the city in a suburb at first to save on rent.

It's costly and you constantly have to reset your life. I wouldn't recommend it, but I understand the appeal. Resetting life really hurts you.
