Yes and yes.

No. My only problem is that HR puts "male" on everything but that's because the state I live in won't recognize a gender marker change without surgery. Whatever.

How easy was it to find work as a transperson?
Probably as difficult as it is for anyone looking for a job.

Did your employer make any changes to the workplace to accommodate your needs?
My employer ensured my legal name at the time didn't appear anywhere except for HR documents, which I thought was a considerate gesture that he didn't have to do. Things like my ID, my mailbox, my email, were all in my preferred name when I got there.

Did you receive support from anyone to help prepare you to get a job?
Officially or professionally? No. Nothing other than friends and family.

Alternatively, if you are unemployed do you think its because you are trans?
When I was unemployed, as far as I can tell, it was no one's fault but my own.

I'll say that I do live in the Southern US so I'm not exactly a welcome minority either.

Well, I transitioned in the job I had, and my co-workers were super cool about it, so I feel that my experience is atypically positive.

The only real hardships I've faced at work has been figuring out the line of disclosure for customers and when to correct them when they get it wrong,because I have a high profile job, and I'd already been there for about 10 years already.

Honestly, the way I am told, almost all of the negativity for my transition at work was directed at my friends and coworkers, and almost none at myself. In my case, they all had my back, but I imagine the scenario could be entirely different. There have only been a handful of times where the management has had to take a customer aside and tell them that they either have to be respectful, or they have to leave and stop coming back.

But hey, the amount of customers excited for me way outweighed the negativity, so there is that at least. Now I am a year and a half in, and pretty settled in. The only weirdness is from people that already knew me before, so I guess you could say that I am there for presenting socially as female, which is possibly why it hasn't been so bad. It is also probably why those that are weird are being so, because they have a weird cognitive dissonance that they can't resolve, so they have to call attention and reject it.
