Do any of you live in pretty far left cities like Seattle or San Francisco? Is it really as trans friendly as supposed or is it a meme? Is it only in university hugboxes?

I used to live in Los Angeles and nobody was okay with trannies there. Went from bad to worse.

If anyone lives in a really liberal city can you describe the quality of life in general? Doesn't matter what gender or orientation you are.

I have a drug problem, specifically alcohol, I want to start with why I think I have this problem, when I was a kid my mother was a junkie and always high or wasted or both, and my dad was the same, and eventually my mother got arrested for driving under the influence and it was her 3rd or 4rth time so she went to prison, and shortly after that, our father died, and my older brother was left to bring me up and one night he came home really drunk and high and said something along the lines of it isn't fair that it was only me and tried to fuck me, I was struggling and kicked him in the head and he was out cold and went to the neighbors and since then I've never seen any of my family again I really miss them even though they were shit and I want to see them again, so what should I do?

Why are so many trans women angry at the fact that feminism is celebrating vaginas?

Like, I was at the women's march and there were like, three signs I could see of the uterus, ovaries, etc. and I totally understood it, obviously planned parenthood is being defunded and all that bullshit. makes sense.

and like, i get the idea of feeling left out as a trans woman if you don't have a vagina

but why is it so EXCESSIVE? Like I swear the only facebook and tumblr posts I was seeing after the march were the ones saying "Dear trans women, so sorry about the obnoxious vagina signs and banners everywhere, you MATTER" like i only saw two or three?? The rest were pretty generic dump trump shit, not that there's anything wrong with that

and then just posts from other trans women like "really ashamed of the women's march for allowing this vagina fetishism" or "seeing all these vaginas makes me really left out :'("

like it's just a picture of a vagina?? it makes total sense??

I live in a southern state, so I'm kind of worried about this. The man in that article did make a mistake by meeting at a secluded location, and I plan on meeting up somewhere public first with each person I want to have sex with.

But I feel like that's not enough. What if we go back to his house and he has a bunch of goons ready as soon as the door is locked?

I have a short survey about ethnicity in relation to being trans. Among all of the trans people I know, cultural and religious background seems to play a massive role in how we are accepted and how we accept ourselves. I'm interested to see if there is anything to my casual observation, since I'm fascinated by anthropology.

I'm a tall guy (6'3") with a moderately large frame, but I want to be a femboy/transfeminine (specific label doesn't matter much.) I am pretty thin (160 lbs), but I don't think I could "pass" in the same way that a smaller male-bodied person could in the same situation. I think I'll always feel too big, but I can't change that, and this isn't a deterrent to transition on its own. My actual identity and transition goals are pretty figured out, so I don't need too much help there.

My problem is my anxiety. I've been diagnosed with GAD and put on a bunch of meds after being hospitalized for irrational anxiety and suicidal thoughts (which had nothing to do with my identity.) I have hard time even making eye contact with people sometimes if it's bad. I'm worried that I'll have people coming up to me all the time, and I don't want the interactions whether good or bad.

I don't want to explain my identity, or have to deal with these people. I don't want to hear laughter behind me and spend the whole day wondering if it had something to do with me. I honestly think the occasional harsh confrontation would be preferable to 1000 small interactions and fears. Just the minimum amount of socialization I have currently as a "cishetwhitemale" is exhausting and stressful for me.

The icing on the shit cake is that I live and work in a hyper conservative area, so I'm guaranteed to never be left alone.

Does anyone else struggle with this? How do you cope? Has anyone decided transitioning wasn't worth it on this reason alone? I would have transitioned years ago if it weren't for this. I feel like my brain is torturing me
