Prominent TERFs and TERF organizations have joined forces with conservative christian organizations in the past to try to get trans kids kicked out of school, famous TERFs lobbied before congress to have insurance companies exclude trans people from getting coverage, in the 70s there were several instances of TERFs intentionally sabotaging feminist groups or conventions just because they allowed trans women.

TERFs hate trans women, full stop. If they just had some belief about "trans women not being real females " (which isnt correct either, because "real female" as you are likely imagining it is almost always a goal post moving definition designed to exclude trans women and only trans women, at least as far as TERFs are concerned) they wouldn't care so much as to actively spend the majority of their time attacking a tiny, marginalized, and almost completely powerless segment of the population.
