Gender, in modern terms, is a social construct describing the fact there are certain cultural expectations put on "males" and "females" so that they adhere to societal normals regarding actions, emotions and life choices.
Transgender people relate more to what is culturally expected of the opposite gender. Why is that an issue? Why do you have to go an unnecessary step further and start presenting yourself like the opposite sex, which is a completely different issue since sex and gender are two different things?
Why are you enabling culturally enforced gender roles? By thinking "I prefer the opposite gender's way of life, therefore I have to start appearing like the opposite sex" you're just contributing to the current oppressive gender norms and fixing nothing.
Isn't it much more progressive to say "fuck your gender norms, I'm an effeminate male/masculine female and I don't give a fuck what you think"?

Gender is a prison, and trans people want to switch cells. Destroying the prison is a difficult problem (maybe even impossible) that would take more than a few generations. Not everyone is willing to be a part of that. Most just want to feel comfortable during their short time on Earth.

Many trans people feel dysphoria from having a womans brain and a mans body. It has been shown that trans people do have feminine brain structures even before hormones
Other trans people (who sometimes get called ""AGP"" here) don't necessarily suffer dysphoria but gender euphoria where they just want to have a womans body and be a woman.
There are tomboy trans too and feminine trans and inbetween.

I think I am going to leave my gf. We have been together for a bit over two years and I am realizing that she just isn't the one even though I love her to death. I have needs that aren't being met, and I am tired of putting those aside for her.

Out of curiosity, how many of you actually publicly identify with the LGBT community and enjoy PRIDE (parades, events, etc.). I hear that it's PRIDE month and it got me to thinking that, while I don't care about others' sexuality and what they do with their lives, it really bothers me that people literally parade their sexuality as something anyone else should give a shit about and if I identified with the LGBT community or were actively involved in fighting for gay rights or whatever, then I would be embarassed to be part of such a thing.
So what is your opinion on PRIDE and people brazenly showing off their sexuality?

Iunno, Asbergers may have had a hand in it, but i think im just normal amounts of bi for a woman. I think if anything Aspergers may have prevented me from forming disgust at gayness. But i also had a mom who told me "dating" doesnt care about gender and i didnt know that sex was involved in dating until really late. Also i started having sex dreams/fantasies with girls when i first started masturbating, which was early childhood. When i learned that sex was men putting their peepee into woman-hole i switched to fantasizing about sex with men. Ive also always been rather tomboyish. It's probably a combination of all these things.
I think Aspergers was related more to my eventual and increasing gender discomfort than my sexuality. I think i may have had undiagnosed OCD as a teen and if so, thats a wicked combination. Soo much body checking and obsessing. Glad that shit is over.

Hey, cis-woman here.
I was wondering if anyone trans could explain to me how they knew they were trans?
I've never understood it because I don't feel like I know I'm a woman because of some internal feelings, I just feel like I know because I've been told it by society.
So how did you know you were a man if you were assigned female at birth, and how did you know you were a woman if you were assigned male at birth?
I'm not trying to be judgmental or challenge you, I genuinely want to hear from people who have experienced this so I can understand.
Bonus question: What are your thoughts on nonbinary people?

So I've been in a trans support group for a while now and it's been really helpful. It's great that people with more experience can tell you how to get legal shit done and which doctors are the best for what.
Most of them are older and I really feel sorry for them when they talk about how long they had to repress. However recently they started doing stuff outside of the center like raising awareness for transgender people and shit. I really like those people since they helped me a lot but I don't want to be seen with some ugly old ogre hons. I guess they start to realize how I feel since I always have an excuse to not show up. Am I being a hypocrite for shunning them outside of the meetings?

This is the real issue here, not so much the attraction. If they want to date someone not to far underage when they themselves are not to far into adulthood maybe. If they want to fuck a toddler or adolescent, that will never be acceptable.

The question of their acceptance is complex morally and logically.
Morally, children being raped is wrong, and it's the priority. However, pedophiles can lead perfectly normal lives, so killing them would be wrong. Logically, children's bodies cannot healthily facilitate sexual activity, but killing functioning members of society is equally as logically fucked.
The only humanitarian way through this issue is to find another solution.
That being said, supporting pedophiles is the worst way to go about it. If they don't feel awful about being a pedophile, why would they control the urge to fuck children?
