Hi lgbt. I'm new here and I'm not LGBT, I'm a straight parent but I need your advice. Yesterday, I got a call from my child who was born male's school saying that he tried to commit suicide. I read his note and it said that it was because my child was transgender. How do I deal with this, and what can I do to help? I don't care about what my child identifies as, I just care that I have a child that's well and healthy and I don't know how to help. Please, my child is 14 and I need your help.
Also, what pronouns should I use while my child looks like a boy?

I guess the point of the comic is to say that even if someone is supportive of one's transition, it can still be hard for them to get used to their new gender. I mean, you might know someone your whole life and then they undergo a drastic change like that. I don't know though, that's just my take on it.

Force yourself to go outside in women's clothes anon. Just fucking do it. I know it's terrifying, I know you're filled with self-disgust, doesn't matter. Force yourself.
After you do it like 5-10 times you'll get used to it. You'll start to feel more confident and self-assured. The shame comes from the hiding, once you stop hiding then you'll be fine.
